Is 'Seed of Destruction' the first published piece of Hellboy?

This gets argued from time-to-time. I believe (as Parrish said) that the SD comic was Hellboy's first published story appearance. Everything after that should be fairly inarguable.

I think his first appearance was that one with the cute little doggy that turned into a not so cute or little doggy. That's usually included in the Seeds of Destruction graphic novel.

I think the confusion came when Wizard said it was Next Men was the first and that they considered the SDCC 2 a "preview," when the official Hellboy site said it was the first appearance.

It seemed, like a lot of things Wizard does, that Wizard just didn't want to be wrong, but I think they have since corrected HB's first appreance.
