Superman saved the whole earth several times. Without him there would not be an earth anymore.

Funny thread :D

Superman saves the world

As for bono.

I actually had a conspiracy theory that U2 caused 9-11

I know Superman has done a lot for his world, but ours? Not so much. But I can't really think of anything that Bono has done on his own.

As an ideal, Superman has inspired countless generations to heroism.

But I'd also like to point out that Bono is a super nice guy who puts his money and his time where his mouth is. Pretty inspiring as well.

Screw Bono! Superman fought the Ku Klux Klan! (http://www.metroactive.com/papers/metro/07.02.98/comics-9826.html)

And, as a bonus, he inspires great works of art! (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Taxidermy-Super-Squirrel_W0QQitemZ280110065134QQihZ018QQcategoryZ6 7212QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphot ohosting) :D

Bono is nothing more than a pretentious bucket of vomit. If he really cared about poverty he would give his millions to the cause rather buying tons of pairs of funny colored sunglasses.

No he didn't.

He does put a lot of time, effort and money into the problem of poverty. While you can question the effectiveness and direction of his energes, i don't think you can criticise his dedication and honest belief in the cause. Him giving all his money away won't solve anything.

of corce not,... wink wink

""It seems odd, in a situation where they enjoy an already favorable tax regime, they would move operations to the Netherlands to get an even more favorable rate," said Joan Burton, finance spokeswoman for the opposition Labour Party."

"They've paid plenty of money up to now," said Peter Cooper, who lives in Bray, near Bono's home in Dalkey. "I think they are quite right" to move the company abroad.

...and some people voted for lex luthor .

I don't understand what that means.

Anyhoo, you're still wrong. They have not moved all or anything close to all their finances out of Ireland. Next year Bono and his bandmates will still be paying more tax into the irish exchequer than any of the socialist whiners who're complaining about the move.

Again, none of that makes what you said the truth.

You're wrong.

Bono has done more actual (as opposed to fictional) good for the human race with his humanitarian efforts. But he also makes a lot more money than Superman and has undoubtably gotten laid more often, so it balances out.

Superman comics has inspired countless children to wear towels as capes and jump off high places in the misguided hope they could fly.

Bono has inspired countless teens to warble three-note gibberish into microphones in the misguided assumption they could sing.

Pick yer poison.

I'm pretty sure she wins soley for the fact Bono is a real person.

THat sounds like the Ontological Argument in reverse.

Maybe if we could prove that Supes has done more good than Bono in the real world it would prove that Supes actually exists!

No, I'm fairly certain Superman is a fictional character. Could he have inspired people to help others? Sure. However Bono is actually working at helping others.
