Best look for Brainiac

Of all Superman foes, the one who has gone through the most changes in apperenace is Brainiac. Which version of him do you think was the best?

I think DCAU Brainiac is probably the best version ever. Perfect blend of pseudo-organic and obviously robotic.

yeah, I always kinda found the 'robotic' one to be the creepier one, but they have made some good stories with the combo one. The only one I DON'T like is the old one in the comic books that looks totally human and I get confused with an older Lex Luthor (in the comic books).

Though I don't understand what all that colorful crap in his shoulders are. He look like one of those see-thru toy vacuums with the colored balls that pop around inside.

I liked his look best back when he had green skin, a blonde mustache & beard, and a big purple cape.

I'd vote DCAU's version for worst looking.

For me , the old pre-crisis robotic Brainiac look is probably the best because he is after all ,suppose to be a sentient computer.

In one of the last appearances of brainiac during that crossover with outsiders & titans , it was suggested that he might return back to that old pre crisis robotic look.

Would have been interesting though to see THAT brainiac waging a psychic battle against Psimon in COIE instead of the robotic brainiac blowing out psimon's transparent skull.

I do think the Animated DCU version is the best, for combining elements from several versions.

However, storywise, I wish they'd stuck to the original, Coluan Superintelligent criminal/Brainiac 5's ancestor one. They've reinvented him too many times by now. Choose a version and stick to it, please.

I've advocated for awhile having a version that melds the Perez redesign with the 60s/Benes version.

Imagine the Cyborg Superman.

Replace the Cyborg parts with the Perez Brainiac.

Replace the Superman parts with the bald Brainiac in the purple suit.

I like the green-skin because I like the Coluun connection to Braniac 5 of LOSH but I was first exposed to Braniac via the Super Powers figure so I am also quite fond of the robotic figure. At least give an homage with the robotic skull shaped spaceship. But above all be consistent.

This is the version that works best for me as well. However, it's a bit too similar to the current version of Metallo. Maybe add a bit more green and purple to differentiate the two.

I'm also a fan of the silver, robot looking Brainiac. This is probably because I owned the Super Powers action figure that looked like that, with the sweet grip-action kick.

Silver age, or bust (maroon shirt, and all). After all, Lex has recently sported his earlier looks, having the silver age braniac at his side would make him look less goofy.

Robot Brainiac has always been my favourite..

the robot looks the creepiest. the buff green guy doesn't project the image of a "brainiac" to me, although to be honest, I think all versions are pretty good, except for the blonde mustache one.
