Ok, I haven't read the main series, but I know the basic idea of what went on on the alien planet. My question is, why did the shuttle that the Hulk was sent to that planet on explode? Doesn't seem in line with them sending him to a peaceful planet to live peacefully. Did someone mess with it or something?

There is a lot of speculation about this right now. The popular theory is that it was blown up on purpose, but no one knows who did it. The ship has a rather large very technical engine and its what caused the majority of the explosion. Again, no one really knows what happened.
I personally have doubts that it was the work of the Illuminati, just doesnt seem to fit, if they wanted to blow the Hulk up, then would have just sent the ship to a star and not an uninhabited planet (the original destination).

It was not on purpose, since if the Illuminatti wanted Hulk dead, they could just do kill him. Hulk smashing it and/ir the people of the world he landed messing with it caused the explosion. Although the Illuminatti should know that if they send Hulk in a spaceship to another planet to be trapped forever, he would react and cause damage enough for something like that happen, and they have their share of the blame as well.

I want to point out that as far as I know the launch to another planet was improvised for the most part, and that they would have reinforced the hull more, or knocked him out first or something. They saw an opportunity and took it. They might not be blameless, but I would say it is rather far fetched that they are to blame for the planet breaking.
