Captain Smith

Previews of the new Thor comic. Also - Tony gets a message from beyond the grave.
So Thor is back. Do we really think Captain America (Steve) is gone. The book is still running (kind of like Superman when he 'died).
So how long till Steve is back?

Maybe the "message beyond the grave" is from Thor himself. And i don't see Cap getting back before the end of the Death of the Dream arc.

A message from behind the grace could just be finding a letter or a video informing Tony of a new threat. Infact, I bet it is one of those.

Isn't that MVP on the cover to the initiative? Guess his death didn't last long.

I don't think "They brought back a character they got rid of without explicitly killing off for falling sales and basically said they were gonna bring back all along but were waiting for the right time and have been strongly hinting at for some time and whose a God and thus has prebuilt excuses anyway" is quite the same as bringing back Cap after the hullaballoo of his death but whatever.

Why does everyone think he's dead?
Didn't Carol Danvers tell Jessica Drew that Cap was safe in Civil War:Initiative? I don't think Carol is the sort to just lie to one of her best friends about something like that.
That issue came out the same week as CA #25, so unless I am remembering it wrong Cap is due to come back eventually? Maybe I'll have to dig out the issue..

July looks like the month of the year so far in comics. Spider-Man may finally be forced to kill in cold blood, Thor is coming back, Xavier goes off in search of the greatest mutant in history, She Hulk WILL be forced to a make a decision against the Hulk, and the Red Skull's daughter is going unopposed for the time being.

Excepted she did lie. We found that out in New Avengers that she was lying. Also in Fallen Son Wolverine ID'd his dead body.
We know Roger's will return at some point but for now just enjoy the storyline.

It's a common mistake, you've confused "safe" with "multiple gunshot wounds" it happens.:)

Before Steve is revived I think we'll have four wannabes running around. Perhaps a younger version of Captain America, a clone of some kind. A big guy in red white and blue armour. Perhaps the cyborg Midnight can wear some stars and stripes to fight crime... before jumping further into his psychosis. And finally we need some kind of alien disguised as Cap; perhaps we have something for Captain Marvel to do other than simply watching 42.
Cap will be back for a while, but eventually be split into two beings with wild powers: Captain America Red and Captain America Blue.

And of course, when he is restored, he will have a mighty, all-conquering mullet.

Perhaps he will return from the dead as a black man and be able to draw endless amounts of power from a deal made with the devil.
I look forwards to his being chosen to be the herald of Galactus.

It'd be cool if someone found him in the Red Skull's torture chamber, as the Skull makes him watch America be devested by chaos, and Cap is helpless to save it!
The body that was pronounced dead was swapped with a Cap clone made by Arnim Zola, and Sin as we saw dressed as a nurse, swaps the bodies. She then takes the injured cap to the skull's dungen, so he can be kept alive to watch America, and his friends, (Bucky, Sharon, Falcon) suffer at the hands of the Red skull!!!!!!!!

Or maybe he'll come back only to find that he'd been replaced for the last 37 issues of his previous run by a cosmic entity that had taken his form? And then he'll absorb said cosmic entity into his body and become ultra-powerful?

I think Coiple has done a great job with Thor. We still dont know that the story is about, only that it takes place in Oklahoma. Also, we havent even seen interior art yet, or read the book so lets reserve judgement until then.

The solicit says it all. The God of Thunder makes his return this July. I'm so excited for this series, and the art for it looks great. Thor has always been one of my favorite characters. So who else can't wait for this series?

I'm glad Thor is back, but the new costume aint so great, it's not too far off, so they should just put him back the way he was. Don't mess with a classic.
