So I was pondering the new Marvel Illustrated line, and while I'm currently not interested in the adaptation they've thus far announced, it got me thinking what I'd like to see...

THE DIVINE COMEDY

Inferno: art by Barry Windsor-Smith

Purgatorio: art Charles Vess

Paradiso: art by James Jean

I was even thinking the project could run as a long-term backup feature, with a Canto or two in issues of other comics...

What other classics do you want to see? Who do you want to see on them?

I'd love to see 'The Great Gatsby' illustrated by the guy who's doing the art for 'Silent War'.

No, seriously, I would pass out from a heart attack from sheer joy if that ever happened, because the guy's art is phenomenal and it'd suit the story.

To Kill a Mockingbird is a must as well, but I dunno who'd illustrate it. I'd say it'd HAVE to be someone who can draw pseudo-realistically though, maybe Steve McNiven.

Brave New World with Stuart Immonen on art. THAT would just totally rock.

Oh, and Bryan Hitch illustrating 'Ulysses'.

... Just kidding on that last one, by the way.
