View Full Version : Songs that make you think of Marvel characters

(aside from the obvious ones like "Spiderman, Spiderman...")

The following song always makes me think of both DD and Spidey (or, it might be more accurate to say that it makes me think of MJ,
Milla, and to an extent, Foggy, since it's from their perspective):

Dark clouds are coming in, like an army.
Soon the sky will open up and disarm me.
You will go, just like you've gone before,
One sad soldier off to war,
With enemies that only you can see.

The dishes stacked. The table cleared.
It's always like the scene of The Last Supper here.
You speak so cryptically, but that's not news to me -
The flood is here, it'll carry you...
And I've got work to do.

Come on home.
The team you're hitched to has a mind of its own.
It's just the forces of your past you've fought before.
Come back here, and shut the door.
I'm stacking sandbags against the river of your troubles.

There is fire, and there is lust.
Some would trade it all for someone they could trust.
There's a bag of silver for a box of nails,
It's so simple, the betrayal,
Though it's known to change the world and what's to come.

Just come on home.
The team you're hitched to has a mind of its own.
It's just the forces of your past you've fought before.
Don't you recognize them anymore?
I'm stacking sandbags against the river of your troubles.

There's the given, and the expected.
I count my blessings while I eye what I've neglected.
Is this for better? Is this for worse?
You're all jammed up, and the dam's about to burst...

I hear the owl in the night.
I realize that some things never are made right.
By some will, we string together here
Days to months, and months to years -
What if everything we have adds up to nothing?

Hold on.
The team you're hitched to has a mind of its own.
But it's just the forces of your past you've fought before.
Come back here, and shut the door.
I'm stacking sandbags against the river of your troubles.

-- "Come on Home" by The Indigo Girls

What do you think? And has this ever happened to anybody else (where a song makes you think of a storyline or a character?)

(Note: if this thread looks familiar, it's probably because I originally posted it in the Marvel.com boards)

Thought of another one. This one requires some back story, though. Actually, it's the back story, even more than the song itself, which hits me over the head with its many parallels to where Spidey is right now.

This song is from the Broadway musical, "Wicked," which is a must-watch for anybody who can handle musicals and who likes Spidey, or any of the lone vigilante comics. Because, again, the parallels are amazing.

"Wicked" tells the background story of The Wizard of Oz, from the perspective of the Wicked Witch of the West (real name: Elphaba, or possibly Elpheba, but I'll call her Elphaba), and Glinda. The basic moral of the story (because most Broadway musicals nowadays have a moral to the story) is that Things Are Not Always As They Seem.

Background Story of the Song (Note: contains major spoilers for the musical, and probably the book as well)

Elphaba has had a hard life. Her mother died giving birth to her, and she's an embarrassment and a disappointment to her father. Weird things keep happening around her, and she's ridiculed and shunned by her peers... since she's... you know... green.

She goes to school with her younger sister, Nessa, who's confined to a wheelchair. Then there's more shunning, especially at the hands of her roommate, Glinda (or Galinda, as she was called at the time, but for simplicity's sake, we'll just call her Glinda), the most popular girl in school. The headmistress loves Elphaba, though, because Elphaba has a true gift for magic.

Elphaba has kind of a chip on her shoulder, what with all the shunning, but she also has a really compassionate, passionate nature. She befriends Dr. Dillamond, her favorite teacher, who happens to be a goat. Being an animal, he's victimized by the Ozians even more than she is. He's also terrified, because there are stories of animals being prey to violence, and then losing the ability to speak. Elphaba thinks that they should tell the Wizard, and maybe he could help.

Shortly after this discussion takes place, though, a band of people come in and basically arrest Dr. Dillamond in front of class, for the crime of being an animal. Only Elphaba speaks out in his defense, and she's basically shot down. A replacement teacher comes in, explaining how they are bringing in a shining new age when animals will know their place and will be unable to speak, through the miracle of science. He brings in a lion cub in a cage, for demonstration purposes. Elphaba, in the heat of passion, lets loose some of her magic and runs off with the cub to set him free in the woods... much to the chagrin of everybody else, who can't understand the weird girl.

Meanwhile, a new boy comes to school. His name is Fiyero. He's handsome. He's popular. He's empty-headed, and proud of it. He and Glinda hit it off right away ("You're perfect." "You're perfect." "So we're perfect together!"). He does, however, see something in Elphaba that nobody else sees, and respects her, quite a lot.

Long story short, Elphaba and Glinda become fast friends, and the headmistress gets the two of them (mainly Elphaba, but Glinda is allowed to tag along) in to see the Wizard, because Elphaba's gift is so impressive. Thus fulfilling Elphaba's lifelong dream of becoming beloved by everybody, as the second in command to the Great And Powerful Wizard.

(right about here is where the Spidey parallels really start)

Elphaba and Glinda go to the Emerald City, and are appropriately wowed by it. Then they get in to see the Wizard, and the Wizard gives Elphaba a book of spells. To test her ability, he brings in a whole bunch of monkeys, and has her cast a spell. The monkeys begin to writhe around on the floor, as they begin to grow wings. The Wizard and the headmistress are both ecstatic that they've finally found someone who can do real magic (which is a bit of a surprise to Elphaba and Glinda, who, along with the rest of Oz, thought that the Wizard could do real magic).

Elphaba's surprise, though, is eclipsed by the fact that everybody's rejoicing while all of these poor monkeys are writhing around in obvious pain. She begs the Wizard to make it stop. He tells her it can't be stopped... all spells are non-reversable, and he can't understand why she'd want to, since she'd just had a tremendous acheivement and created the perfect slave, very useful for spy work. He also tells her that he's behind the animal abductions and the removing of their ability to speak. Elphaba is devastated, that her hero could possibly be responsible for something this horrible. Her disillusionment is made complete when she discovers Dr. Dillamond, in chains, bleating like a... goat. Passionately, she casts a spell against the Wizard and sets the monkeys free, and she flees while the Wizard (over a city-wide broadcast) declares her a criminal, evil, witch.

Glinda follows Elphaba and begs her to reconsider ("Elphie, listen to me. Just... say you're sorry. You can still be with the Wizard. What you've worked, and waited for. You can have all you ever wanted..."). Elphaba refuses, because of her principles, and begs Glinda to come with her - they could be great together. Glinda regretfully declines. Elphaba casts another spell on a broom to make it fly, and leaves, with the entire city crying murder behind her.

End Act 1

A few months later, everybody lives in terror of the horrible Wicked Witch and her "lies," and her collusion with "rebel animals." Glinda, meanwhile, has enormous popularity - the Wizard has put her forth as "Glinda the Good," and people worship her. In return, all she has to do is go along with all of the lies that are being told about her best friend, and not ever go against the Wizard. She's loved, worshipped, and she and Fiyero are getting married. She has everything she's ever wanted. She's happy... sort of.

("I couldn't be happier. No. I couldn't be happier. Though it is, I admit, the tiniest bit, unlike I anticipated. But I couldn't be happier. Simply couldn't be happier. Well... not 'simply.' Because getting your dreams... it's strange, but it seems a little... well... complicated. There's a kind-of-a-sort-of cost. There's a couple of things get lost. There are bridges you cross you didn't know you've crossed until you've crossed. And if that joy, that thrill, doesn't thrill like you think it will... still, with this perfect finale, the cheers and the ballyhoo, who wouldn't be happier? So, I couldn't be happier. Because happy is what happens when all your dreams come true. Well, isn't it? Happy is what happens when your dreams come true.")

Fiyero, on the other hand, is getting royally tired of all of the lies being told about Elphaba, and he's disgusted with Glinda for going along with it. He eventually leaves Glinda and goes with Elphaba (more on that in a bit).

Meanwhile, Elphaba's sister, Nessa (the one in the wheelchair), is now the ruler of the East, and she's hated by the population because of her strict treatment of the people, particularly the Munchkin population. She's strict with them, because it's the only way she knows to hold on to the man she loves, Boc, who is a Munchkin. She gets a visit from Elphaba, and after blaming Elphaba for their father's death and everything that's gone wrong in everybody's lives, Elphaba tries to make it up to her, by casting a spell. She does so, giving Nessa magic shoes that enable her to walk.

Nessa is elated, because now that she can walk, she can marry Boc. Boc is also elated, because now that Nessa can walk, he doesn't have to feel responsible for her anymore, so he can be free to pursue Glinda. Nessa doesn't take this news too well. She calls him heartless, grabs the spell book from Elphaba, and starts to cast a spell, despite Elphaba's protestations that she's saying the words all wrong. Boc screams that he can no longer feel his heart beating - because he no longer has one. Nessa screams at Elphaba (because, of course, all of this is Elphaba's fault) that she has to undo it - but Elphaba can't undo it, because all of the spells in the spell-book are permanent. Instead, she finds another spell, which turns Boc to tin, because she had to find a way for Boc to no longer need a heart.

So, anyway, around this time, Fiyero (whom Elphaba has always been in love with) discovers that he really loves Elphaba, and he leaves Glinda and he and Elphaba get together.

Around this time, the headmistress finds a way to capture Elphaba for the Wizard. She casts a weather spell, which creates a tornado, which as you know, results in a house being dropped on the Wicked Witch of the East (Nessa), and a little girl running off with the Witch's magic shoes. Glinda directs the girl to the Emerald City, then Elphaba arrives to grieve for her sister. She has some bitter words for Glinda, but doesn't get far, because the headmistress arrives with the Captain of the Guard (Fiyero) and several other guards to capture Elphaba. Glinda, rather weakly, tries to intervene on Elphaba's behalf, but it's Fiyero who turns the tide by turning against the guard and defending Elphaba, and giving her a chance to escape. For this, he is captured, put up on a stake, and carried off to be tortured or possibly killed. Elphaba witnesses this from afar while running, and in an attempt to save him, brings out the old spell book.

And here we have the song.

(Sorry... the song is moved to the next post, because this post is too long)

Song (continued from the previous post):

Elphaba:

FIYERO!

Eleka namen namen a tum a tum eleka namen
Eleka namen namen a tum a tum eleka namen...

Let his flesh not be torn, let his blood leave no stain,
Though they beat him, let him feel no pain.
Let his bones never break, and however they try to destroy him,
Let him never die!
Let him never die...

Eleka namen namen a tum a tum eleka namen
Eleka namen namen a tum a tum eleka... eleka...

Ugh!
What good is this chanting?
I don't even know what I'm reading!
I don't even know what trick I ought to try!
Fiyero, where are you?
Already dead, or bleeding?
One more disaster I can add to my generous supply!

No good deed goes unpunished.
No act of charity goes unresented.
No good deed goes unpunished.
That's my new creed...
My road of good intentions led where such roads always lead!
No good deed goes unpunished!

Nessa...
Dr. Dillamond...
Fiyero.....
FIYERO!!!!!!!!!!!!

One question haunts and hurts,
Too much, too much to mention.
Was I really seeking good?
Or just seeking attention?
Is that all good deeds are,
When looked at with an ice cold eye?
If that's all good deeds are,
Maybe that's the reason why

No good deed goes unpunished!
All helpful urges should be circumvented!
No good deed goes unpunished!
Sure, I meant well...
Well, look at what well-meant did!

All right, enough! So be it!
So be it, then...

Let all Oz be agreed, I'm wicked through and through,
Since I could not succeed, Fiyero, saving you,
I promise, no good deed will I attempt to do again!
Ever again!
No good deed will I do
Again!

...

Mob:
Go, and hunt her, and find her, and kill her!

Person in Mob:
Good fortune, witch-hunters!

Mob:
Go, and hunt her, and find her, and kill her!

Wickedness must be punished!
Evil effectively eliminated!
Wickedness must be punished!
Kill the Witch!

Boc:
And this is more than just a service to the Wizard! I have a personal score to settle with Elph--with the Witch!
It's due to her, I'm made of tin,
Her spell made this occur!
So, for once, I'm glad I'm heartless!
I'll be heartless, killing her!

And the lion also has a grievance to repay!
If she'd let him fight his own battles when he was young,
He wouldn't be a coward today!

People in crowd:
Kill her! Kill the Witch!

Mob:
Wickedness must be punished!
Witch-hunters, I would join if I could,
Because wickedness must be punished,
Punished,
Punished,
But good!

-- "No Good Deed" and "March of the Witch-Hunters" from "Wicked". Music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz

This just strikes me as a place where, if Spidey isn't quite at this place yet, it's just a matter of time.

The following, a song by country singer Toby Keith, reminds me of Captain America. I'd say it should be his theme, but those first could of lines get in the way:

I’m just tryin’ to be a father, raise a daughter and a son
Be a lover to their mother, everythin’ to everyone
Up and at ‘em bright and early, I’m all business in my suit
Yeah I’m dressed up for success, from my head down to my boots
I don’t do it for money, there’s bills I that I can’t pay
I don’t do it for the glory, I just do it anyway
Providing for our future’s, my responsibility
Yeah I’m real good under pressure, being all that I can be
And I can’t call in sick on Mondays when the weekend’s been too strong
I just work straight through the holidays, and sometimes all night long
You can bet that I stand ready, when the wolf growls at the door
Hey I’m solid, hey I’m steady, hey I’m true down to the core.

And I will always do my duty no matter what the price
I’ve counted up the cost, I know the sacrifice
Oh and I don’t want to die for you, but if dyin’s asked of me
I’ll bear that cross with honor, cause freedom don’t come free.

I’m an American Soldier an American
Beside my brothers and my sisters, I will proudly take a stand
When liberty’s in jeopardy, I will always do what’s right

I’m out here on the front lines, sleep in peace tonight
American Soldier, I’m and American, Soldier.

An American Soldier an American
Beside my brothers and my sisters, I will proudly take a stand
When liberty’s in jeopardy, I will always do what’s right
I’m out here on the front lines, sleep in peace tonight
American Soldier, I’m and American, an American, an American, Soldier.

Maybe it's just that Titan A.E was a scifi but "Over My Head" by Lit makes me think of Nova.

I'm in over my head.

They want to try and build me up
So they can tear me down
I wish that I could be back there
But I'm right here right now
They've taken everything that I've had to give and
They say it's over but man, I'm still here living

I don't know what to do
I think that maybe
I'm in over my head
Stuck in the red
Something they said
Makes me think that I'm in over my head
Over my head
Over my head

I've gotta get away from here
And it couldn't be too soon
'Cause I see the stars are new with me
Like rockets to the moon
You take me everywhere that I've never been in
Show me the meaning of what life had to give me

I don't know what to say
I think that maybe
I'm in over my head
Lying in her bed
Something she said
It makes me think that
I'm in over my head
Over my head
Over my head

They've taken everything that I've had to give and
They say it's over but man, I'm still here living
I don't know what to do
I think that maybe
I'm in over my head
Stuck in the red
Something they said
It makes me thing that I'm in over my head
Over my head
Over my head

I'm in over my head
I'm in over my head
I'm in over my head
I'm in over my head

Captain America's been torn apart
Now he's a court jester
With a broken heart
He said turn me around
And take me back to the start
I must be losing my mind
"Are you blind?!"
I've seen it all a million times

"The last time I Cried" Chris deBurgh

The last time I cried, I was sitting home
And it was deep in the night,
Staring at the shadows and the flickering lights,
Giving all that I had, to take them away,
Giving all that I had, to make them pay;

The last time I cried, I could see the people
Long ago in the rain,
Waiting as the soldiers put them all on a train,
And the hands on the bars, the eyes full of tears,
And the word is the same, for a thousand years,

Eli eli lama, oh lord, you have forsaken me,
Eli eli lama, oh lord, you have forsaken me;

The last time I cried, I could not believe it
When I held on a face,
Staring at a soldier with his gun in the rain,
It was the face of a child, my child here asleep,
And the soldier who smiled, the man was me

This one makes me think of Laura Kinney aka X-23:

Green Day: Boulevard Of Broken Dreams

I walk a lonely road
The only one that I have ever known
Don't know where it goes
But it's home to me and I walk alone

I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Where the city sleeps
and I'm the only one and I walk alone

I walk alone
I walk alone

I walk alone
I walk a...

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I walk alone

Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Aaah-ah,
Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah

I'm walking down the line
That divides me somewhere in my mind
On the border line
Of the edge and where I walk alone

Read between the lines
What's fucked up and everything's alright
Check my vital signs
To know I'm still alive and I walk alone

I walk alone
I walk alone

I walk alone
I walk a...

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I walk alone

Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Aaah-ah
Ah-ah, Ah-ah

I walk alone

Riders Of The Storm, by Hammerfall. Lift ye hammers high, sons of Odin!!

Sight a brand new horizon
Ascending from the hearts of those who couldn’t see
The decline of man, the final stage of war

Spectral forces of mankind
We’re all trapped inside the core of the machine
Our time has come to find a way back home

We seek our destiny in thee
In the eye of the storm
A genesis is born, reborn

Riders of the storm – one with the wind, defenders of creation
Riders of the storm – aligned with the sun

Phantom powers rule the earth
Descending down, controling you and me
What is left to see, is it all but a dream

On the inside looking out
Kept within a cage, behind a false facade
They can’t keep us down cause our strenght is our will

We dream of a genesis reborn
Where our spirits fly free
Let us choose our own destiny

Riders of the storm – one with the wind, defenders of creation
Riders of the storm – aligned with the sun

Speak the word of Nemesis
Call for thunder call for rain
Let us meet our Genesis
Save us from the unholy pain

Riders of the storm – one with the wind, defenders of creation
Riders of the storm – aligned with the sun

See that song always made me think of deathlok since he was a cyborg and and his onboard cpu would tell him "battle plan running" when he needed tactical decisions. Not to mention he was built for war. But I could see what your saying to.

Of course the second half of megadeth's "holy wars the punishment due" made me think of the punisher.

"Wage the war on organized crime
Sneak attacks,repel down the rocks
Behind the lines
Some people risk to employ me
Some people live to destroy me
Either way they die

They killed my wife, and my baby
With hopes to enslave me
First mistake...last mistake|
Paid by the alliance,to slay all the giants
Next mistake...no more mistakes"

Sum 41's OVer my head(Better of Dead) fits Spider-man's situation in Civil War and his relationship with Iron man after he switched sides.

What happened to you?
You've played the victim for so long now in this game.
What I thought was true
Is made of fiction and I'm following the same.
But if I try to make sense of this mess I'm in
I'm not sure where I should begin.

I'm falling, I'm falling ...

Now I'm in
Over my head, with something I said
Completely misread I'm better off dead.
And now I can see, how fake you can be
This hypocracy's beginning to get to me.

It's none of my concern.
Well look to me 'cause I don't believe in fame.
I guess you never heard.
I've met our makers they don't even know your name.
But if I had to say goodbye to leave this hell
I'd say my time has served me well.

I'm falling, I'm falling ...

Now I'm in
Over my head, with something I said
Completely misread I'm better off dead.
And now I can see, how fake you can be
This hypocracy's beginning to get to ...

This came long before,
Those who suffer more
I'm too awake for this to be a nightmare.

What's with my disgrace
I lost the human race
No one plans for it to
Blow up in their face.

Who said it was easy to put back all these pieces.
Who said it was so easy to put back all of these pieces.

Now I'm in
Over my head, with something I said
Completely misread I'm better off dead.
And now I can see, how fake you can be
This hypocracy's beginning to get to me.

Over my head, better off dead.
Over my head, better off dead.

FOr Captain America, Hulk Hogan's theme song "I am a Real American"

I am a real American,
Fight for the rights of every man.
I am a real American,
Fight for what's right - fight for your life!

When it comes crashin' down and it hurts inside,
You've gotta take a stand- it don't help to hide.
If you hurt my friends then you hurt my pride.
I gotta be a man - I can't let it slide.

I am a real American,
Fight for the rights of every man.
I am a real American,
Fight for what's right - fight for your life!

Well I feel stronger 'bout right and wrong
And I don't take trouble for very long.
I've got something deep inside of me,
courage is the thing that keeps us free!

I am a real American,
Fight for the rights of every man.
I am a real American,
Fight for what's right - fight for your life!

I am a real American,
Fight for the rights of every man.
I am a real American,
Fight for what's right - fight for your life!

If you hurt my friends then you hurt my pride.
I gotta be a man - I can't let it slide.

I am a real American,
Fight for the rights of every man.
I am a real American,
Fight for what's right - fight for your life!

Well the song was actually based on Deathlok (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgfCL7lzvAE) so you would be right:

Sober seems too dark for Ant-Man but Creep would fit nicely.

true. i was going with him getting his best friend killed and his best friend's girlfriend knocked up. he ruined a few lives during that series, despite the sometimes humorous overtone.

For Sentry - Carry on Wayword Son By Kansas

Carry on my wayward son,
For there'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Now don't you cry no more

Once I rose above the noise and confusion
Just to get a glimpse beyond the illusion
I was soaring ever higher, but I flew too high
Though my eyes could see I still was a blind man
Though my mind could think I still was a mad man
I hear the voices when I'm dreamin',
I can hear them say

Carry on my wayward son,
For there'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Now don't you cry no more

Masquerading as a man with a reason
My charade is the event of the season
And if I claim to be a wise man, it surely
means that I don't know
On a stormy sea of moving emotion
Tossed about I'm like a ship on the ocean
I set a course for winds of fortune, but
I hear the voices say

Carry on, you will always remember
Carry on, nothing equals the splendor
Now your life's no longer empty
Surely heaven waits for you

Carry on my wayward son,
For there'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Now don't you cry no more

Here are the lyrics to "Masters of War":

Come you masters of war
You that build the big guns
You that build the death planes
You that build all the bombs
You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know
I can see through your masks

You that never done nothin'
But build to destroy
You play with my world
Like it's your little toy
You put a gun in my hand
And you hide from my eyes
And you turn and run farther
When the fast bullets fly

Like Judas of old
You lie and deceive
A world war can be won
You want me to believe
But I see through your eyes
And I see through your brain
Like I see through the water
That runs down my drain

You fasten all the triggers
For the others to fire
Then you set back and watch
While the death count gets higher
Then you hide in your mansion
While the young people's blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud

You've thrown the worst fear
That can ever be hurled
Fear to bring children
Into the world
For threatening my baby
Unborn and unnamed
You ain't worth the blood
That runs in your veins

How much do I know
To talk out of turn
You might say that I'm young
You might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know
Though I'm younger than you
Even Jesus would never
Forgive what you do

Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul

And I hope that you die
And your death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand o'er your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead

Innuendo by Queen reminds me of the X-Men and their mission.

While the sun hangs in the sky and the desert has sand
While the waves crash in the sea and meet the land
While there's a wind and the stars and the rainbow
'Till the mountains crumble into the plain

Oh yes we'll keep on tryin'
Tread that fine line
Oh we'll keep on tryin yeah
Just passing our time

While we live according to race, colour or creed
While we rule by blind madness and pure greed
Our lives dictated by tradition, superstition, false religion
Through the eons, and on and on

Oh yes we'll keep on tryin'
We'll tread that fine line
Oh oh we'll keep on tryin'
'Till the end of time
'Till the end of time

Through the sorrow all through our splendour
Don't take offence at my innuendo

You can be anything you want to be
Just turn yourself into anything you think that you could ever be
Be free with your tempo be free be free
Surrender your ego be free be free to yourself

Oooh ooh
If there's a God or any kind of justice under the sky
If there's a point if there's a reason to live or die

If there's an answer to the questions we feel bad to ask

Show yourself - destroy our fears - release your mask

Oh yes we'll keep on trying
Hey tread that fine line
Yeah we'll keep on smiling yeah (yeah yeah)
And whatever will be will be
We'll keep on trying
We'll just keep on trying
'Till the end of time
'Till the end of time
'Till the end of time

the song who remember me a marvel character is Superman by Michael Sembello and it's about the comics civil war the return and the mini of Captain Marvel.

You can hear that in the official website of Michael Sembello, it's an amazing song

http://www.michaelsembello.com/mpegs/Superman.mp3

There are a religious background who remind me the symbole of Mar-vell with his return, the church who see him like a savior etc...

Call me crazy, but when I read the return, I have listening this music in the same time, for me it was a cool moment.

That ol' chestnut "My Funny Valentine" always made me think of Daredevil. That guy has some of the worst luck with ladies this side of Peter Parker.

The songs "Horror Business" and "Mommy, Can I Go Out and Kill Tonight?" by the Misfits always reminded me of both Moon Knight and the Punisher, both for fairly obvious reasons.
