Anyone else hearing errie old west whistling tunes?
EDIT: More seriously, I like the look of the series visually, and the backstory and motivation sounds intriguing, though I am a bit burnt out on 'dark heroes'.

From that interview:
"The one thing that I can say about the villains is that this is something that comes from a much different place and comes out in a much different way than the Annihilation Wave did," Grillo-Marxuach hinted. "In this case, the danger comes from within and without — and I think it's going to be very surprising to the comic audience just how this threat evolves and where it comes from."
I'm increasingly coming to believe that the predictions that Conquest involves the Microverse (and, possibly, Psycho-Man) are correct.

Maybe Ronan is rebuilding the Kree Empire? The whole enemies within and without made me think of this
At this point, I'm strongly leaning towards the idea that Wraith is kree by birth but was raised by Skrulls (the gunwhip looks like something a shapeshifter might use) or Dire Wraiths (who are a Skrull offshoot anyway)

Hotz' art looks great. I think I will give this mini (as well as all the other A:C stuff) a shot. Looks promising.

This might be my most anticipated new book of the year at Marvel to be quite honest. Civil War was great and all, changed the landscape of the Marvel universe but Annihilation and all the mini-series' leading up to it are the mega-event that really blew my socks off. Everyone was giving the Silver Surfer love, and Nova love. Don't get me wrong I love them both but the series that rocked the party that rocked the body was Super-Skrull. Javier Grillo-Marxuach took a character that I liked a lot before, and turned gave him life and turned him into a character that I love and can't live without now.
Now that he worked wonders for Kl'rt he's kicking off the new Annihilation series with Wraith. Every picture I've seen of this guy, I love. Everything I keep hearing about him, gun slinger from the old west type in space. Not concern with one else or anything except his personal vendetta, awesome. The best part of it all his initiation into the Marvel universe is going to be written by Javier Grillo-Marxuach. I can't even put into words how badly I want to have this series in my hands already. I can't wait for Annihilation: Conquest, Quasar, Moondragon, Super Skrull, Nova, Star-Lord, Ronan, and introducing Wraith. Oh yes, I'm back on the Annihilation band wagon one more time and as many times as they want to keep it going.
Thanks to Javier Grillo-Marxuach, Wraith might be the greatest new character introduced to the Marvel Universe in a long, LONG time.

The Sergio Leone/Clint Eastwood vibe is very awesome, but the whole loner who is amoral but still kind of a good guy thing is getting really tired.
