So, we all know it's ending with 75 and he proposes to BC, but she didn't show up until the end of this issue? How are going to get to a marriage proposal in two comics? She's been out of his world for so long, it almost feels like they just crowbarred her into the story, ya know?

I collected everything Green Arrow / Oliver Queen for the better part of 30 years. Crossovers, minis, solo-titles, action figures.
But I had to put the book down about a year ago. I could no longer stand the mischaracterization. I forgave Judd for putting Oliver in bed with Joanne Pierce. I forgave the rambling, testosterone humor, I forgave the lack of any real emotion, I forgave his idiocy about the facts of HIV in the Speedy issue, but the straw that broke my back was that stupid speech he gave in OYL. His city in real trouble, people divided and eating out of garbage cans, and the best we get from Oliver Queen is a gay marriage agenda and some sex jokes. It made me sick.
So, I've been relying on spoilers to keep up with the title. What else happened? And yes, why they let Judd ruin the GA / BC relationship only to cram another courtship into 2 issues is beyond stupid.

I think your missing the point of that speech, he as for one trying to get some tourist revenue into the area. Something the city desperitly needed. ANother thing it did was get attention on the city. He was hoping to be able to go from gay marriage to the fact there is a berlin style was in the city.
But in relations to the issue it was nice to see Conner again. And the street stand off was good.

No, I caught what he was trying to do. The revenue from 10,000 homosexual couples wouldn't even be a fraction of what Oliver had in his own bank account. It was a complete Judd Winick insert for the Judd Winick agenda. Coupled with the sex quips to the reporter, it was probably the most pitful inaugural speech any newly appointed politician in any era under any circumstances could ever make. The fact that his beloved city still smouldered added insult to injury. No compassion for the victims behind the wall, no rallying of the people to rebuild the city, no championing of the human spirit...
Just a stupid and ridiculous idea of increasing tourism by performing gay marriages. To constrast how idiodic this is...
Imagine New Orleans electing a new mayor after the hurricanes, and in his first speech to the people, he cracks sexual jokes, and says the way to rebuild New Orleans is by doing gay marriages and using homosexuals to boost tourism.
Americans, and residents of New Orleans would be outraged at the lack of compassion, the lack of any sound ideas for rebuilding, the unprofessional nature of discussing one's sexual habits in public.... they'd probably throw the moron out of office right then and there. I imagine that even a few homosexuals would be angered at the thought of using their monogamous, loving relationships to generate tourism dollars.
This was 100% unnacceptable writing, except in the JWU (Judd Winick Universe).
But in relations to the issue it was nice to see Conner again. And the street stand off was good.
I heard on the DC boards that Connor threw a bottle at the bad guy? What kind of juvenile crime fighter throws a bottle at a bad guy? Especially if you are one of the DCU's premier martial artists... and you throw a bottle?
Uggg.

I hope this current run of Green Arrow ends with the bang just as it started. BTW Archer's quest is one of my favorite comics.

I hate the way Judd winick gets so much flack for things. I really like his writing, i guess if Green arrow was my fav character i would notice such mischaracterisation. otherwise his outsiders is fun.
