It's odd. the first few months of the shop I shop at now I totally hated it. Just didn't get it for soem reason. although part of that was bitterness over having lost my own shop and we all know that the discounts one can give themselves is far greater than the 10% I get now It just wasn't my comfort zone...

as I became more comfortable though it became a great place to shop. whether it's the regular customers who I've become great friends with (Working on a book with a few of em too) or the understatably weird guy that runs he place that took a while to grow on me. The place has become my home....

Is this a thread about how great my shop is......nope it's not. I just wanted a place where I could say that today the owner of the shop did what is quite possibly the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me. After the comics getting theftimaficated from the car the other day I called him. told him to look out for anyone trying to sell him them back....well....noone has yet but what he did for me today makes me want to tell everyone if they are even near eugene and springfield that they should come in and buy comics from nostalgia collectibles. I promised I wouldn't say exactly what he did for me to anyone and I'll keep that promise but needless to say it has made my week a lot better after the craptacular monday event.

Sorry just had to get it out there. it isn't often that someone does something as nice as what he did for me. Now I've got most of what was stolen back in some form or another.

Any particular Eugene or Springfield or do they have to be in a specific state? I usually go to Nova Comics in Springfield, VA.

True true, there are a few Springfield's at least. That's why it's been the home town of the Simpsons... because it's everywhere. Like here in MA.

I lost my long time LCS Dec 31,2005. Switched over to a new store, but it did not survive the year. I am eternally grateful for Zeus Comics, because without them it is QUITE possible i would of given up my 30+ year hobby.

Still,it is quite sad that there is NO place in my city to go and look at comics on the shelves. :(

Oregon has a Eugene and a Springfield.

And i just want to say i ALWAYS did my best to support my LCS while it was opened, even at my expense(i bought thru my LCS for comic/card/game/toy items rather than the internet when available even if it cost me more..sometimes a LOT more).

Actually, it's a fact that there is a Springfield in every state in the continental US. Not sure about Alaska and Hawaii.

That really rocks for you, Chris. I've had a random act of kindness perpetrated on me this week, too. Not nearly as big and not due to such a horrible thing, but, still, that sort of niceness goes a long way into restoring a little faith in people.
