I have noticed recently (and I've made a mention of this in one of these posts--can't remember which) that we here at YABS are quite a creative bunch. It seems everyone's got a project of some kind that they are working on. So I thought it would be fun to get everybody talking about their latest gig. What do you say? Post links and stuff to whatever you're up to, or just talk about it.

Sure, you post this 5 minutes before I leave for a 12 hour work day. Thanks. :p
The Necropolis Chronicles! That's my gig!
I'm working on issue three and samples of Book One can be found in links in my signature.

Lightbringer, obviously. ^_~
But I've always got an idea or two floating around in my head, either for a novel/graphic novel or a comic book series that I may want to try to pitch in the future to a company if only for the mad hope that I might actually get a start in the comics industry.

Actually my best friend, Tim, just got the website up for the webcomic that we'll be doing. He wanted some feedback so if y'all don't mind, could you let me know what you think so I can pass it on to him?
www.Tellurium3.com
'Tellurium 3' is completely Tim's brainchild but after he completes his first storyline, I'll hopefully be contributing more.

I've been working on a book for several months now. You can follow my so-called 'progress' through the link to my livejournal in my signature.
Coincidentally, I was about to add another entry this morning about what happened with my writing last night.;)

I've posted about it elsewhere, but doesn't hurt.
Working on Mythos, my mature indy comic. Links and info in my signature. Issue 3 is out, and we're off to Bristol next month for our first convention!!! :)

Thank you for the all purpose whoring thread Sisho. It seems like every other thread on Yabs is someone trying to sell me something and to be honest it's gotten old and annoying.

I have a project, but so far no response. I will give it until the end of the month, then pitch it to another company.

My projects:
What's out:
I currently have self published a book called "I Am..." which so far people who have read it seemed to like. My second printing is down to very few copies and will soon be doing another run of it. I'm proud of this book.
There's my Indy Spotlight column at http://www.comicbloc.com
Working on:
My first novel. No concrete plans about this just yet, but it's all down on paper. Anyone know a good agent? :D
My comic. Very early stages on that.

Check out my buddy's comic, After. www.myspace.com/memetic_press.
Also, I just realized that I'm a dope and had privacy settings on my MySpace page. If anyone wanted to "friend" me before, but couldn't because I'm a dope, please do so now! I'd love to hear from you.

This is sort of a cross between "whoring" and pimping my mySpace blog.
I finally got rolling with my blog on mySpace. It's going to be devoted to current reviews of things - like stage shows I've attended, movies I just saw, current issues of comic books (lots of those). Mainly because I wanted someplace where I could post more immediate type of reviews. Sure I do reviews on my website, but those tend to be of the more permanent and final versions of things (complete TV seasons, movies on DVD, books).
I called the blog "The Return of the Letter-Hack". If you read any DC comics in the late 1990s, and read the letter columns, you may have seen a few of my letters of comment in print. Especially in the Batman books. It wasn't until years later that I realized how many made it into print.
Anyway, I decided to get back in the practice of "current commentary". I invite you all to come on by and check it out. And argue with me, if you disagree (that is what the comment function is for, ain't it? ;) )
Anyway... done pimping now. :)

Hmmm. Looks like this is the place to land this baby.
Hi, Everyone *big smile*
My name's Virginia and, (wait for it!) I am a contestant in Small Press Idol '07!
Groans over? Now, I'll bet that you've all heard of this contest and that I'm not the first to ask you to visit Dimestore Productions, (http://www.dimestoreproductions.com/smallpressidol/idol07/index.html)
Look up my project, Windy City (http://www.dimestoreproductions.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,137/topic,2859.0/)
and, if you actually like it and it's not a bother to register and all, Please Vote "yes" for Me.
I need public votes to get to Round Three. There are 60 great projects trying to squeeze into 30 slots for the next round. I've worked pretty hard on mine and I want the chance to advance. Winner gets a 4 issue committment. I would very much like a shot at that. I've been working on this book for longer than I care to say.
Please help a girl out, ay? Thanks in advance for looking.
Whoops! Almost forgot to warn you- Deadline to vote for this round is Sunday, May 13th. Just around the corner!
Best,
Virginia

Holeee-! I knew your name was familiar! I remember your letters! Wow. You are famous for writing letters. That is pretty cool.

Welcome Virginia! Please feel free to stick around and play with us YABSers. We don't bite. (Wait, actually, that may be a lie.) But I promise we're mostly real nice. :D

Thank you! It's gratifiying to find folks still remembering my stuff after all this time. (As a writer struggling to get over the threshold, it's great to know my audience is still out there! ;) )
I'll have to check out your piece on my lunch hour today! Good luck in any case!

Hey, Ladies! (we all are, right? :p )Well, I've been um, lurking a little, so I know better. You guys totally bite. But playfully.:)
I first landed here because of (of course) Ms. Simone. Love her writing. I hope to find the time to hang. Been admiring the thread on the Dinner recently. You guys are pretty amusing. Nice to see people actually meeting from something like this.
Yep, Sarah. Your name rang a bell immediately, and when I looked back at your post, there was my answer. I ran a comics store back then and saw everything. I always dug the letters pages. I reckon you stood out for a reason. Good Luck in the writing gig.
Well, I need the votes, so I thought I'd better get to marketing. That's part of the contest. Not a part I'm in love with, though. I missed the cut off by one vote this AM. (every am there's a count, after the top 30, we fall below The Line. And we don't want that. ) So, every vote I can get will get me closer to seeing this in print. Hate the pimpin', but there is no choice. Sunday is practically tomorrow.
If anyone feels the urge to help a stranger, who is indeed strange :) Please take a look soon. Windy City's (http://www.dimestoreproductions.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,137/topic,2859.0/)the project. If you want to vote, please register, and when you are confirmed, just do a quick response reply and type in "yes."
'Nuff said as they say.
Thank you for reading. Thanks, Sarah for your consideration. I hope you like it.

Meanwhile, Dixon's been a slacker, so I'll step up and whore this for him. ;)
You all know his wife writes nice little stories in "real" books, but many of you may not know that she loves superheroes too. :D
Anyway, she has a new project going on that I only found out about last weekend, called:
"The Secret World"
by Steve Libbey and "some one" you might have heard of, named
Mercedes Lackey!!!
Really, how can it get cooler than that?
Check it out @ http://www.secretworldchronicle.com
