Fun stuff starts this issue, as the kids start relaxing and trusting each other more.

Plus, ALVIN LEE returns to draw Caitlin!

I'm enjoying this book for sure. It's been a solid book all around so far.

And am anxiously awaiting Mr. Barberi's arrival.

O.<

Queelocke! Man, I hope that isn't just a cop out cameo.

Excellent issue, and an awesome homage to the Gen 13 #5 cover.

I liked how Roxy got Eddie to hold her hand as they went through the teleporter, that was cute, but I bet she's rethinking things after his free-falling performance.

It's just that any joy from the thong bikini was pretty much eclipsed by knowing it had just come off a dead animal, and as Caitlin admits to knowing nothing about tanning hides and that tanning takes a bit of time, it most likely had dead bits of flesh and stuff still on it, right next to her she-bits. Ick.

Caitlin's worry over Bobby's leg that was adding to the tension of her search fell flat as when she finally caught up to them, Bobby was fine.

What happend to Caitlin's wound when she was bit by the T-Rex? There's blood in that one panel, then the next she isn't even scratched. Bit of a continuity flub.

Gail, what is it with you and cats? First Catman's pride in VU, then the talking and now deceased and skinned sabretoothed tiger......all just to highlight Catman and now Caitlin's sense of guilt and build up their characters at the expense of the poor felines? What's next? Where will it stop? Its out of control, woman! That's it, I'm starting up a new website CatsinRefrigerators.com to highlight the atrocities committed against defenseless cats in comics these days. Its totally species-ist!

.....And if said website just happens to lead to an online humor column and from there a comics writing career with the Big Two, well, I'll just count that as a nice, albeit TOTALLY unexpected and not all connected coincidence.

I think the blood was from the Dinosaurs tooth. I think she knocked it out with her tough skin.

Hmm, considering Caitlin had a bleeding scalp from just falling over a waterfall and hitting a rock I kinda doubt it, seems like a T-Rex would put out more power than a fall. Inconsistent power level in a comic not exactly a new thing though.

Being knocked out from the fall felt very plot driven, rather than derived from Caitlin's power levels and the situation. Gail wanted a subconscious/introspective kinda moment, so Caitlin got ko'ed. I know this is a new Caitlin, but I remeber a previous Gen13 where she fell from a plane at high altitiude and she was unhurt (of course the costume didn't make it).

This was a lot of fun.

Caitlin's just a great character, and there were some excellent moments. "Unmercy." Ouch.

And, I've said it before, but I'll say it again: Any story that is good can be made better with the addition of either dinos or pirates (or preferably both!). It's a law or something.

The twist, of course, was great the dino island was populated not by mindless killers, but somewhat intelligent, communicative animals. "No fight unfood. Unhunt." Aww.

It's nice to see the kids coming together as a group. As usual, Eddie gets the line of the issue: "This is our chance to make a nude society!" Ha! He wishes. :)

The art was much fun.

It's Gail's gift to be able to put a story like this together, and still have it have emotional resonance. Great fun. Great characters. Lovely art. What's not to like?
