From Newsarama... (http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=107819)

The Huntress is upset this week and so are a lot of Birds of Prey fans. We talk with Gail Simone about the surprise news of her upcoming series exit

Wow. So when's her final issue?

I kinda' figured Gail's heart would end up leaving the series along with Dina.

I guess that means someone else is writing some issues between your final issue and the start of McKeever's run then? Any hints on who?

Shit. I know it might sound kinda silly or futile (even a tad selfish), but I was kinda hoping I'd have the end of another favorite creator run of mine that I'd actually see coming for a change. Instead, I'm just kinda left with that "rug pulled out from under" feeling, like with Brubaker's Catwoman, Johns's Flash or the Action-thing.

I know that plans people make do change & all that, but still... :(

Wow, I wonder where this post went..*kisses the Web searching skills*

Gail, may I say...you are one of the best outstanding writers to ever grace the comic fandom.

Keep it up.

hey at least it isn't half way through an arc like teen titans..that to me is a complete insult.....at least this way we get a conclusion to her run still a bit depressing though because now we sorta now there is a fill in arc between teams......unless she's co-writing an arc with sean to help him get his feet wet with the characters (Like Geoff did with Beechen.....except without leaving in the middle of an arc)

I didn't realize that Teen Titans was half way through the arc...I thought Johns co wrote it until the end of the East Coast Titans.

nope. the last issue was his last one...beechen and barrionuevo.....are finishing it off....

Ya know...as much as I have criticized Johns, I don't think he could be that unprofessional unless he has a major, unannounced project that is calling his attention.

Maybe, but Teen Titans was suffering and seemed to be getting later and later each month. Not quite Wonder Woman levels, but definitely noticeable. It could have just been a matter of: "I'm doing way too many books and I can't keep up with them all. Help!"

At this point, Geoff was doing the writing on 5 books: 52, Action, Green Lantern, Teen Titans, JSA.

52 and Teen Titans are out, Booster Gold is in, giving him 4 books.

I wouldn't count Booster Gold. He is only doing 2 or 3 issues of that and then he is out.

Derailing the thread, but Johns is a better-ish than mediocre writer until his workload increases, then you start treading into hack city. I think he is ok with like 2 books, anything beyond that the quality suffers.

On topic, I almost wish that Gail left BoP when BC did. It would seem almost poetic. :o

At least we are (hopefully!) getting Ice back.
