I really liked this one, too. It really solidified the characterizations of the Bride and Groom, and had enough of the "Angry Dick" for me. He's so much cooler when he gets mad ...
I also like the letter's page for this month. Quote Dido "But no one has ever accused me of being smart -- just ask the Nightwing fans." So true.
And the shadowed guy in the bar? Is that supposed to be Jason Todd? (Why does he have a bun?) I really hope not. I've had enough of Jason Todd to last the rest of my life.

I'm waiting until next month and then reading the entire arc in one setting. (Been picking them up, though.)

Captain Jim - You're cheating! You can't do that haha.
I haven't gotten this comic yet, but it's my box at my comic shop right now if it came out.
Now I want to go get it and check it out haha.

I think this was an issue that had me hooked from the first panel to the last! Its been awhile since I have read an entire comic and literally not looked away or get distracted by some criticism I might have but Marv really came through on this one with excellent art by Jamal.
And Orion what is with all the shout outs, thats exactly y i havent met ya since Frank and Sons lol u are little too out there

I dont think it was Jason Todd. Maybe its the mysterious assassin from the Raptor case. He seem to know a lot about Nightwing.

I loved Nightwing #131, one of the best Nightwing issues in a very long time, and the art was fantastic.
I think the guy in the shadows is going to be a completely new character and the villain in the next arc starting #133, maybe Nightwing will finally get a decent arch-nemesis in his own series.

lets think... who was always trying to compete with nightwing?
I dont think its jason... but who else always wanted to be better than him?
Could it be Tad, Nite-Wing?

Didn't Devin Grayson kill him?

Didn't Devin Grayson kill him?
I thought so too, but wikipedia says: "Tad was arrested again, along with Tarantula, and resides again in Lockhaven, serving his time for the murders of Cisco Blaine and Torque"

Evidently I missed something during the period I wasn't reading the book. I could have sworn that Nite-wing was killed. What happened that all of a sudden he isn't dead?

since i stopped with the book, i hadn't heard nite-wing got out of the hospital.
in conclusion, i'm more lost than you, not sure why i thought that was worth posting cause i don't have answers.

Nightwing's turned a corner with this issue... I'd been hanging in there with Wolfman, desperately hoping he'd put something cool together, but his run's been mediocre before now.
I still think it could be much better, and the book could be making a stronger statement, but this is the best this comic's been in a long while.

What I liked about 131 is Wolfman actually trying to make Nightwing the same person as Nightwing in Outsiders.

I agree with the general consensus. Nightwing is finally turning a corner with Wolfman. He's a superhero again, supremely confident, can kick ass and strikes fear in the heart of his enemies--its great to see everything is headed into a bold new direction. :D
All we need now is some amazing villians(i'm pshyed about the new mysterious rogue they hinted at in 131) and supporting characters and NW is on his way to reaching his full potential--thanks Marv and Jamal!

I'm liking Nightwing. I like how he's reacting to the villians. Still not really enjoying these new enemies though. Then again I might be biased because of the weird connection to the Salem Witch Trials. Having grown up in Salem, and even had lunch there today, I guess I know too much about it to buy this origin.

Agreed.
I'm still not loving it, and I don't find Bride and Groom interesting enough to warrant a four issue story arc, but at least Dick is losing some of the wishy washy. I mean, he's always been a little unsure of himself. That's one of his winning trademark qualities. But this identity paralysis he's been working through for ages now -- it's damn annoying. I thought that was all gone in that great Wolfman issue when he climbed out of the grave, but I guess this issue solidified it more.
Still, I didn't enjoy this issue much at all. Nightwing is boring me. I'm not sure how much longer I can hang around based solely on my faith in good ol' Marv.
