News today on several sites that a Metal Men movie is in the works.

Didio has said at one convention or another that Metal Men will be the next property that DC revamps and pushes back to the forefront of the universe.

The Metal Men have had a resurgence in the Magnus plot in 52 and were featured in Justice and Meltzer's recent Justice League arc in prominent roles.

Any big fans of the characters out there?

What would you like to see from a Metal Men mini or ongoing? In a Metal Men movie?

Any predictions about their future role in 52 and the DC Universe?

What is so great about The Metal Men? I've noticed that a lot of talkbackers on various sites are annoyed that this is the next property to get a movie.

Having never actually read a Metal Men story, I can tell you that I'm suddenly intrigued. I've always smiled at the idea of the characters. I love all the wack-o bizarre stuff from the silver age. I find find myself wondering if a new series will embrace the strangeness of the old stories while doing its own thing.

They are also appearing in a story arc in Batman Superman written by Guggenheim and Verheiden.

As for the prominence of the Metal Men, it might be because Dan DiDio has an affinity for them since he once helped develop a metal man cartoon.

The Metal Men is one concept DC seems to trot out and make important every now and then--and while they have a niche fan base, they can never seem to have a broader appeal.

I know I have very little interest in them, myself. I do think it's a good concept for a movie and they could do cool stuff with CGI on them, but as characters go, they just never spoke to me.

I loved them as a kid - and I think hat DC should target younger readers with these characters. It's always nice when they get some love.

I love the Metal Men. It's such a fun concept with having robots with personalities based on the metals they're made out of.

I think it's perfect for a movie targeted at a younger audience (or all-ages, whichever).

I've always enjoyed the Metal Men-- I first read them in some digest-sized comics from the 70s that belonged to my uncle and have loved them ever since. I'm glad DC came to their senses and retconned that garbage about the Metal Men being actual people who were accidentally morphed into the metallic robot forms and Doc Magnus becoming the alien Metal Man Veridian (after his brother Gold (!)-- who was also Platinum's husband (!!!)-- was killed).

A Metal Men movie? I think it would be most cool!
