The recent Green Lantern week in 365 Days Of Comics has interested me, and I want to try it out. I'm going to my LCS later and I'll pick up any recent issues they have, but are there any trades I can get which would be a good introduction?

EDIT - nm, just saw the FAQ. Think I'll get Rebirth.

Rebirth is class. i lend my friend rebirth(he doesnt read comics per se) and he said it was absolutely brilliant.

The current run is a great jump on point. plus you don't wanna miss the sinestro corps.

I wouldn't call Rebirth classic, or brilliant, but if you want to get into the current Green Lantern book, that's the place to start. The writing wasn't great, but it got the job done, and the art was awesome.

Then you can start picking up the current series in trades.

Rebirth is a great start. But, if you're an Alan Scott fan, get the wicked Secret Origin of the Golden Age Green Lantern story that Roy Thomas did in '87. That's about one of the coolest Alan Scott stories in my book and a great way to enter into the Green Lantern mythos--which is pretty damn cool and vast.

There are just so many great GL stories that haven't been collected yet. The Steve Englehart/Joe Staton run that followed a ringless Hal Jordan, a cocky young John Stewart and a near homocidal Guy Gardner were pure genius.

Thanks for all your help. I picked up Rebirth, the last issue of GL Corps and the last two issues of Green Lantern yesterday, and they were all great. This whole Sinestro Corps thing sounds really interesting; think I'll be adding both titles to my pull and getting the trades of the newest series, before moving on to anything older my LCS might have.
