She first appeared in Wonder Woman #196 and was the main villainess for about two years. She didn't stop appearing altogether, but she stopped being a point of focus from around issue #215 or so.

Veronica Cale was designed to be Wonder Woman's Lex Luthor villain. I didn't know she had scientific know how until now. I thought she was just a business woman.

I'm pretty sure she was a chemist before she was a business woman, but beyond that, I'unno. They sure made her seem like a monsterous brain in 52, though.
