How the heck do I quote on the blog?

There's been explanations before on there, but can someone show me here (which I assume has different quoting) on how to do it?

Having only just figured out how to get a link to appear as word on the forums (after years as a member) I'm feeling empowered, and think I might finally be able to follow simple instruactions!

Take the word blockquote and put it in caret-brackets: < and >. Fill in the quote. Then put /blockquote in the brackets.

<blockquote>I like pie.</blockquote>
