Read this thread. (http://www.killermovies.com/forums/446855_1-gues-what-you-misbelivers-most-of-you-anyways-spidey-is-officially-a-25-tonner)
Its from Civil War Damage (http://www.marvel.com/catalog/?book_id=6031).
I wonder if it'll actually make a difference though.
If indeed MU recognizes this power increase, he really should be removed from a lot of the street level brawling you typically see him in. It's already a bit of a stretch at 10 tons seeing him goe toe to toe with anyine in marvel that just happens to be wearing a black belt. Now that he's two and a half times stronger, there really isn't any reason street level charactrs should be able to hang with him.

Thats awsome. I was wondering what Spidey's strength level was after all those upgrades.
When Stan Lee wrote Spider-Man, didn't he originally say something to the effect that Spider-Man would become more powerful as he got older?

not neccessarily, alot of other characters are getting strength increases as well.

I don't see this as making much of a difference anywhere but the Rumbles Board.
Is Spidey gonna stop fighting street-level thugs and psychos? No.
Is he gonna start knocking out Electro and the Vulture with one punch? Probably not.

It did seem he threw that jeep pretty far and high with relative ease in the last issue.

It's not like fighting street thugs is any challenge for him now so this doesn't really make any kind of difference that way. He's already pulling his punches as it is, so it's not like they'll be feeling his "Class 25 Wrath!!!" anyways. I do like that this'll make him more believably competitive against a few of Marvel's heavy hitters, though. I for one, am still waiting for him to hurl a jeep or two at Iron Man, he has it coming.

in the latest Sensational he rants about rolling his head at the punches of a fake spidey so the guy wouldn't break his wrist.
so it's not like he's using full power all the time.

I dunno, it's like power inflation. EVERYONE gets more powerful so in the grand economy of super types it's a wash :(
Eventually Spidey'll be tougher than my boy the Thing too. Didn't Ms Marvel get an upgrade in that book too?

I remember about 10 years ago, in Clone Saga days, he had a clone that had precog visions, had huge strength, and extra sticky abilities(Kaine). I always figured that maybe Peter would advance slowly towards this route as his powers progressed way back when. And with recent things, hasn't his spidersense become more powerful(leaning towards precog?)? Just an observation.
There are a few rogues that I'm curious to see how the power upgrade will effect, if it does at all.
He should be twice as strong as people like Green Goblin and Lizard now. I wonder if that will register at all.

This new "strength class" is absolutely meaningless and won't effect future stories in any way.

Lame.
If anything they should've decreased his strength.

Of course he'll have a strength upgrade. Don't you guy's remember waaaaaaaaay back in Amazing spider-man 1 when spidey took on the FF, and at the end the member's mention, he's powerful now but as he get's older he'd be even more (even talking about him as if he was a threat).
So now Peter's older, his powers mutate, he's more "amazing". Besides he pulls his punches most of the time, and he'll need that upgrade if he's gonna pwn someone like Iron Man. He'll also need it, if he has to face Venom again (Gargon cause of his scorpo powers plus Symbiote) as well as if the darn thing ever steals Gargons powers and just gives Eddie Brock another power boost.
25 is a rational limit to his strength though and should not get any stronger than that. Peter is perfectly fine with all his power boosts and should stay that way now until he hits old age.

Remember, he is actually at 15 tons pressing strength right now (following his 'evolution' in The Other), personally I think another power upgrade is lame.
10 tons was the best.
One of the manny things I have always liked about webhead is that while being able press 10 tons is hella strong, he's no Vision.
He has reasonable limits. What makes him so great in combat is the balence of how all his different abilities work together. That and his sharp mind.
I tend to think that the stronger he gets, the harder it becomes for him to take out normal human enemies, because the harder it would become to use exactly the right amount of strength to knock them out without knocking their heads off.

Well, his costume hides it well. Those weblines have a very slimming effect.

No he was pressing 15 Tonnes before the Other.
He went from 10 to 15 around the time of Avengers disassembled where that Insect woman mutated him into a full grown giant spider and he got the organic webshooters.
I told you he was as strong as Cage now.
The strength increase probably came from "eating" Morlun.

I think that they are pretty much making everyone stronger so it won't really matter. Even if they don't say how strong some of the villains are now they won't make too much of a big deal out of Spidey being a lot stronger.

I thought milk did a body good.
I wonder if Spider-man is going to start doing Got Morlun ads.

25 tons is awesome :)
Now i just hope they portray spidermans strength and his spider sense on a more consistant level...
I guess now he should be able tag with stronger villains. i hope he doesnt pull back his punches, why draw out the fight when you can bring someone down relatively quickly.

I just hopre they increase his durability proportionally.
Also, the guy has a whole array of new powers going for him.
His spider-Sense is more sensitive. His whole body is sticky. He has night vision. There are these little stingers that come out of his wrists when he's surprised or agitated. These kind of explain why he kicked so much butt during the final battle of civil war.
I mean, the guy is on a whole other level now. Luke cage is a low level brick. Spidey is as strong as him. Spidey is also a low level speedster, which translates into...being a low level brick with speed. Wow. Imagine a speedblitz from luke cage and that's what Spider-man is.

I agree that its just "power inflation" and in the long run it won't really mean anything. Writers have to make each battle bigger and crazier than the previous ones or else readers will start to lose interest and look elsewhere. New writers also have a habit of getting a really sweet action sequence in mind and then they throw all out all rational reasons why the characters SHOULDN'T be able to throw a jeep with one hand through a six-story window and KA-POW, suddenly, in-canon, Spiderman is that much more powerful.
This is exactly why characters like the Hulk, Wolverine and Magneto have become so ridiculously powerful that they've had to invent new ways to explain their powers or nerf them in certain instances for no rational reason to suit the story. When Mags pulled the Adamantium out of Wolverine's body, he nearly died and his healing factor pretty much burned out from reviving him. Now his ENTIRE BODY can be blown away by Nitro and he can regenerate back entirely from his bones and he can do it in under a minute. It makes no sense, but there it is. They did it. The Hulk can regenerate his entire body from one cell. Magneto can hold people in place by locking down the bits of iron in their blood and levitate an entire city... power inflation for the sake of telling a story. Nothing new or important.
Everyone else will suddenly be more powerful to match Spidey's increased strength, including all of his rogue's gallery. He will still have "oh no! I can't do it!" moments because otherwise the book would have no drama. However, occassionally they may have another hero or villain comment on how hard Spidey hits these days so the fans don't feel like they tricked us.
But they did. They are. It's all a sham to get you to buy more books.

Luke Cage-Spider combo in one package. I cant wait to see him kick ass with his new strength and powers!

Right you are, Yeah it was the ‘Changes’ arc that ran in Spectacular Spider-man Vol2 #17-20, and the name of the dame was Queen (not Medusa, heh).
As another posted stated I don’t think/hope this new upgrade is anything to get too concerned about.
It could just be a temperamental upgrade like back when he got the powers of Captain Marvel.

He's had organics for 3 years. I think Marvel plan on keeping them.

Not the organics, I meant the upcoming 25 ton upgrade.
BTW- I still hope that one day he will lose the organics somehow.
