I'll just start the thread.
Very weak issue. The artwork sucked.

there coulda been more, true.
but its just building up to the next great issue!
its not like evefry issue can have Black Adam kill a bunch of people, or have Ralph Dibny out-wit centuries old demons...
the one thing that did really get to me in this ish was Buddy seeing his wife on a date with someone.
you know thats gotta make buddy hurt.

After several issues of one "holy crap" moment after another, it's nice to get back some quieter character moments... as it is with any other comic series.
Calm before the (next) storm, doncha know.

Basically...bleh. Quite unimpressed overall with this ish. One of the weaker thus far.

Could have easily been taken out of context. We don't know for sure...

it WAS one month in the future, and the face was covered, so maybe it was buddy himself. btw, i liked this issue. the art was eh at some, but amazing at others. i thought so anyway. i loved it.
The artwork sucked.
Horses for courses I guess. I really liked the art in this one :)

I liked the couple pages on Oolong Island, especially when Tin and Mercury popped out of Magnus' coat when he turned on Plutonium. And the set up for the big confrontation in Gotham between Nightwing, Renee, and Intergang. And I while I didn't love the art, it was alright, but it was especially great in the Animal Man scene.
The crap at Nanda Parbat, especially the horse!@#$ cop-out crap Rama Kushna pushed on Wonder Woman, was ridiculous. Stick to bringing the dead back to life, lady, 'cause your advice is !@#$.

I don't wanna believe this. I would think that someone like Ellen wouldn't move on from Buddy after only 11 months or so of him being gone after being married, children, etc. I'm guessing there's another reason behind all of it...

Yeah, we've been Giffened. Now we have to push past the unrealistic looking art and hope the writer can convey the characters on his own.
You know what the little Metal Men remind me of? Those "good" and "evil" consciences that are present in countless pieces of visual fiction. Makes me wonder if they're real, or if Magnus is just hallucinating.

Just a transitional issue. Best part was Magnus with Plutonium. Wonder if he's just a temporary replacement for Gold. Or a new permanent member of the group. I want Gold back when all the other Metal Men return.:(

I think Plutonium was built becasue Egg-Fu wanted it built.

Not really. I've had no problem with Giffins layouts. I thought last issues art by Pat Oliffe was some of the best in the series. No, it's the work of the artists who pencilled and inked this issue that sucked, IMHO.

Though this was one of the slower issues i.e. little action/fighting, it still was pretty interesting. Buddy's visions and Bruce coming out of the cave like a resurrected Jesus/Batman was quite inspiring.

To be precise.
here's what editor michael siglain said.
MS: Well, I wanted it to say something “about wanting a piece of cake with ice cream” but that wouldn’t fit on the buzzer, so letterer extraordinaire Rob Leigh came up with this little ditty which translates to “two-fifty” -- which is not only the price of the book, but also the reverse of fifty-two.

Well we've seen Magnus collecting "parts" for his metal men, like all ther thermometers for the mercury... One of the things he stole was a "gold" watch. So I imagine he'll be back :)
Also what leads me to think they "aren't" Hallucinations.

So, is there anyone out there who's thinking like me, that the cultists are looking for the wrong Kane/Cain?
Batgirl, Cassandra Cain, will serve just as well. Maybe the cult connection is how she'll turn to the dark side.

Some of the issue I liked, some left me cold.
Yeah, now that we're taking a break from Dibny, the Magnus plot and the stuff on Oolong Island is what has me most intrigued.
I had no problem with the artwork. I think we've seen worse in 52. We've also seen better. But it served well.
BAITwoman is ridiculously easy to capture. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the SECOND time she's been captured? Apparently her only special training is in being a lipstick lesbian and doing acrobatics in high heels.

She's gonna' suffer WiR-syndrome to another female hero. That's ironic as !@#$in' hell. I hope that, whenever they do whatever they're doin' with Renee, they give Kathy a little more badass-cred.

Thats what I thought...
I liked this issue. I didnt read the Animal Man series and its real hard to find now, but I do know about suneaters...
what was Buddys limts before?
whats up with the yellow aliens?
and lastly: where can i get some lil striped speedos like the aliens had?
I cant wait for the issue where Rene busts out into "Smoth Criminal"

The aliens gave Buddy his powers. The dimension he was in was literally between panels.
