What the $&(@*^$% was that?
I can't even describe it. I've read crap before, but after putting down Lightning in a Bottle I was almost... angry. That was the worst thing ever. I picked up Flash #10 and enjoyed it (thank God for a new creative team)... when did the new writer come aboard? I'd like to pick up some back issues of the current team, but I don't want anything the Lightning in a Bottle crew did in my home
Good gravy. Words fail me

Issue 9 was Guggenheim's first issue.

Obviously you weren't reading the threads about how bad The Flash had become before you picked up this TPB

Guys Guys Guys,
It's hardly the first time in comics history when editors have made bad decisions to hire the wrong writer for a book,
I won't give examples, because we all probably know loads and will argue all night,
But Danny bilson(Rachael bilson's dad) and paul de meo were not great choice's for the Relaunch of the Flash comic,
That show they had years ago was crap and only last 12 episodes i think,
Marc guggeheim has saved the book in eyes(sales i don't know) but creatively i have to say marc is building something decent and i love,
Zoom turned up last issue, and tony daniel will be the artist from next issue onwards,
Danny bilson and demeo are writing a cool fun, entertaining story called red menace with adam brody(the oc) and art by Jerry ordway. i recommend that mini, it is actually quite a bit of fun, but never put them near the flash again!

my aunt brought it cause she had a cute cover and after reading it, precedded to use it to light the candle (after she set the book ablaze)...
so overall id say MArc has made a vast improvement:D heres to hoping for happy trails ahead'
DC actually released a TPB of that arc?
And at least one person actually bought it. Although I can't throw stones, I bought the issues new.

Yeah, it was pretty horrible. Guggenheim has already made vast improvements, so there is hope

Yeah it was kinda bad...aw who am I kiddin', It sucked...
I tried soooo hard to be optimistic when the issues were hitting the stands cause I love the Flash and cause Bart was one of my childhood heroes. But the writers had, in my opinion, no grasp of Bart's character and who he is/was/should be.
Guggenhim(sp?) obviously understands the character and has brought back a character that, to me, has been sorely missed for about a year now.
So yeah, the first arc sucked.
Those reading this thinking about coming onboard the series, you don't have to buy this TPB or the first arc at all. Start at #9! Better yet, start with Impulse! Find back issues of that! Gives you a better view of the evolution of Bart Allen as a character and they're just fun to read anyways.

I was a little surprised.
I picked it up expecting a complet trainwreck. All I heard was how bad it was. I didn't think it was that bad. Granted "the Griffin" was a joke, but the rest was definetly "readable"
On a seperate note, I NEVER liked Impulse, and found him tolerable as Kid Flash. So if you LIKE Impulse, it may not be for you. I thought it was "ok"
