Marvel Nemesis 2 will released in late 2007. I've never played Marvel Nemesis 1 but I know it's a fighting game and I know it sucked bigtime.
There is no information on what platforms it will be released on, or what characters will appear in the game yet.
Most likely, the game will be released for next-gen consoles and the characters to return will the characters from part 1 plus more.
So what hopes do you guys have for this game?
These are mine...
-Must-Have Playable Characters: Storm, Rogue, Cyclops, Phoenix (jean), and Spider-Woman. I also want Firestar, but I know she won't make the cut.
-Graphics: I want them to be highly detailed and crystal clear (HD graphics). I also do NOT want them to look all cartoonish and rainbowly colorful cuz I hate that, especially cuz it prevents the characters from looking at their most bad-ass.
-Gameplay: It should obviously be improved from the first game. What I want this game to have is cool chain combos and I also want Aerial Combat cuz I love aerial combat in all games. Also the flying characters should be able to fly, even if it's just temporarily.
-Costumes: Costumes are an enormous part of my love for superheroes. They have to look awesome, so I want all the X-Men to come with their classic 90's outfits in addition to other alternate costumes. Every characters should have more than one alternate costume, cuz come on, these characters have dozens in the comics books. I just hope they pic the good ones. Storm, especially, should have her round capes with her 90's silver costume and with the current black crown costume she has if they include it for her. They shouldn't give her the mohawk outfit cuz I can't stand that one, it's so unfeminine and graceless, very unlike a goddess.
-Special Features: It should definitely have a lot of content, like the Mortal Kombat games. Marvel Ultimate Alliance had little content. All we were able to do was play the story mode. So, this game should probably have either a short story mode in it, or a mini-game of some sort.
I also want their to be bios for all the characters and at least an FMV movie or mini adventure mission for each.
So are you guys exciting about this game? And what hopes do you have for it?

(The costumes Storm better have in the game in their entirety, with capes attached, unlike in M:UA)

It's pretty underrated, actually. I still play it when I can, more so than UA.
-Must-Have Playable Characters: Storm, Rogue, Cyclops, Phoenix (jean), and Spider-Woman. I also want Firestar, but I know she won't make the cut.
They need to take out most of the Imperfects and add more Marvel heroes/villains. However, I can't agree with some of the people you put up (Rogue, Spider-Woman). Many of the people from UA should be in it. That had an awesome list of characters.
-Graphics: I want them to be highly detailed and crystal clear (HD graphics). I also do NOT want them to look all cartoonish and rainbowly colorful cuz I hate that, especially cuz it prevents the characters from looking at their most bad-ass.
That's not how Marvel Nemesis looked like anyway, so don't worry.
-Gameplay: It should obviously be improved from the first game. What I want this game to have is cool chain combos and I also want Aerial Combat cuz I love aerial combat in all games. Also the flying characters should be able to fly, even if it's just temporarily.
Yes, flying characters were able to fly in MN, so no worries there. The gameplay was very fun, IMO, but an improve would be nice. However, the hard-hitting, gritty feel/mood of the combat shouldn't change, just improve (kinda of like what the developers of the Def Jam series should've done for Icon).
Multiple costumes would be great, like Ultimate Alliance.
-Special Features: It should definitely have a lot of content, like the Mortal Kombat games. Marvel Ultimate Alliance had little content. All we were able to do was play the story mode. So, this game should probably have either a short story mode in it, or a mini-game of some sort.

There was a terrible story mode in Marvel Nemesis, something they need to change for the next game. Also, full comics and pictures were the special features in it. More modes would be awesome, but full comics are unnecessary if it will take away from other more important parts of the game.

Didn't really like the first one because it was just a few buttons of button mashing.

Oh great. Thank you for the info.
I just have a few questions... So the flying characters can fly, but is there aerial combat? Like doing combos and stuff while remaining airborne for a while? Cuz they have that in X-Men Mutant Academy and in Mortal Kombat Armageddon and I love it. It could have been better in both games though.
Well, I don't think they're gonna replace the Imperfects with more Marvel heroes/villains since this is a sequel, but I do hope they do also.
About the game roster, I also think it should include lots of the characters from MUA, but it should include more X-Men. MUA had only 3 X-Men in the current-gen versions and that sucked. Fantastic Four had all four characters playable and X-Men, which has a huge, ever-changing roster of characters, only got 3. What a disappointment.
And I'm so glad the graphics aren't cartoonish and rainbow colored. Thanks.
I probably would rent the game, but since my all-time fav Storm was dressed like a stripper I'd rather not even bother with it. Was she cool though? Like did her powers look and sound cool or something? What did she do?

Seriously, you ain't gettin' squat. The first MN was a total piece of crap, and has there ever been an EA game that improved with the sequel?

I just have a few questions... So the flying characters can fly, but is there aerial combat? Like doing combos and stuff while remaining airborne for a while? Cuz they have that in X-Men Mutant Academy and in Mortal Kombat Armageddon and I love it. It could have been better in both games though.Nope. Fliers only had a different, usually more powerful, distance attack and a strong tackle attack.
Well, I don't think they're gonna replace the Imperfects with more Marvel heroes/villains since this is a sequel, but I do hope they do also. The main thing IMO is that they make the different characters more unique than they were in the first game. They all played mostly the same but with different strength, durability and speed levels.
The reason for that was because the X-men had already gotten their spot-light in two previous games. The developers didn't want to make it into X-men Legends III guest starring the Marvel Universe. Three-four X-men characters were quiet enough. Anyway they're going to add like three more X-men characters for the xbox versions. In Marvel Nemesis the roster was smaller than in MUA because it was harder to translate characters into the fighting mechanic that they had developed. If there is a sequal I hope it's a mix of heroes that don't have their own movies and the ones that do.
I probably would rent the game, but since my all-time fav Storm was dressed like a stripper I'd rather not even bother with it. Was she cool though? Like did her powers look and sound cool or something? What did she do?They looked cool. Her normal distance attack was a lightning bolt from the sky that could only be blocked by the 360-degree shield and while her strength was on the lowest level, meaning that she could only lift light objects, she could decimate most opponents from a distance with lightning bolts and wind based grabs.

Time Splitters 2
Def Jam: Fight for NY
Burnout in general
NBA Street in general
Command and Conquer in general
Medal of Honor
I know they didn't develop most of those games, but still.

No aerial combat, just a special mutant attack, air throw, and a tackle attack.

This is the problem with Marvel in general. The X-Men and the rest of the Marvel Universe are almost in seperate worlds (you can blame CC for that). So too many X-Men would not be a good thing. Besides, they've already had five different fighting games. There should be more non-X-Men in Marvel games that represent the Marvel Universe.
And I'm so glad the graphics aren't cartoonish and rainbow colored. Thanks.

It's really an alright game. Storm is pretty good, but there are some very overpowered people in the game (Niels, Iron Man, Paragon). However, some characters in the game are able to beat them sometimes (Thing, Spidey, Venom).
But the people that really suck in it are Magneto and Elektra.

1. Weak: Daredevil, Elektra and Wink
2. Medium: Spider-man, Wolverine, Storm, Human Torch, Johnny Ohm, Solara, Fault Zone and Hazmat.
3. Strong: Thing, Venom, Magneto and Brigade.
4. Overpowered: Iron man, Paragon and Niels Van Rokel.
But the people that really suck in it are Magneto and Elektra. Are you kidding!
I agree about Elektra, but Magneto! I use him to destroy people who play as Human Torch and Storm, and I can go toe to toe with the guys who use Iron man and Rokel when I use him.
He's awesome in this game, though his appearence and voice does not feel Magnetoish.

Actually, you're either lying or very misinformed. There has been no
screenshots, information, or even submissions on gaming websites like
Gamefaqs that verify it's even TBA.
So what hopes do you guys have for this game?
If anything this is what I hope.
1) MUCH better combat system. The combo system was insanely
non-existent. Every single character had nearly the same combo scheme,
even the ground into air combo. Treat the combat system like how other
3D fighters do it. Big character have heavy hitting/slow moves, fast
character have fast moving/weak moves, etc.
-Everyone should have at least 5 different special moves. Adds a ton more
variety than what was there before.
-The super power bar was kind of lack luster, so I hope they get rid of that.
-And get rid of the "finisher" move. Especially since a lot of Marvel characters
would not do a killing move (which most of the finishers looked like.)
-That and the character balance was insanely bad. Iron Man > everyone
else. There was literally no way for anyone weaker to beat him.
-And definitely lose the interactive objects. Characters who can pick up
the heaviest objects always have the advantage.
2) I have no complaints toward the graphics. I would however, prefer some
bright stages rather than the majority being dark with some light in the
first game. Basically, lose the "grim and gritty" look, this is a Marvel game,
not a Sin City game.
3) Lose the EA created characters. And definitely lose the clones. There was
almost no difference between Venom & Spider-Man gameplay wise, and
apparently, for every Marvel character there was an EA copy.
-Ditch Elektra's look. She looks like a whore rather than a superhero-type
assassin, give her back the ninja garb.
-Keep Daredevil, Spider-Man, Storm, Iron Man, & The Thing. Put Captain
America & Dr. Doom in (From their PSP port).
-Change up Venom so he doesn't play exactly like Spider-Man. And please
give Magneto his helmet. It felt like I was playing Sir Ian Mcellan rather than
Magneto.
-Give Wolverine a costume, screw the street outfit.

i dont understand all the hate for marvel nemesis. i loved the game! it was one of my favorite fighting games and had a kickass story mode. my fav charactors to play as were wolverine, daredevil, and electra. i believe my lil brother played as spidey most of the time and we would get into fights(real time) because i kicked ass as wolvering and he kicked ass as spidey so whenever we played the game we argued that we werent allowed to play as those charactors if one of us played someone different. so if i was playing as johny ohm, he couldnt play as spidey. and if he was playing as magneto i couldnt play as wolverine. but man whenever we fought wolverine vs spidey...it was a fight to remember. if they make nemesis 2 i would be first in line to buy it

I agree with you 99 percent, the one percent missing is because the story mode was kind of piss poor.
But yeah I think they should just leave the "Nemesis" theme alone and focus on Marvel characters only. Plus if you keep going with the Nemesis theme you wouldn't be able to play as the marvel characters that you got to use in the 1st game cause they all got killed by the Nemesis characters. Along with Cap, Punisher and Hulk, that was shown in the begining cenima scene.
I thought it was a really fun fighting game (yeah it had room for improvement but what game doesnt) and me and my friends in my dorm would stay up till about 3 every night playing against each other. It was a blast and I can't wait till the 2nd one comes out.

I might have had more fun with Nemesis if I'd had someone to play two player with. Unfortunately, I was stuck with the story mode, which is painfully repetitive and frustratingly difficult. It also forces you to play as the uber-lame Imperfects and use them to kill the Marvel characters, which I hated. The story actually has a neat twist, though, if you can manage to beat the final level.

Yeah I'll give the game that. The ending plot twist was nicely done but in a way made it seem pointless to have a city wide envasion and kill off all the main characters of the MU. If they were the "good guys" they did this why?

Or playing it as Iron Man/Thing. Or even just playing it with/against DD/Spidey/Torch/Wolverine/IM/Thing combo was a blast!
My second fav level was the broken bridge stage.

it was cool with the street levels cause when you played as wolvie or electra, you could stab your claws/sais into the brick walls and stuff. alot of characters could do things like that, the creators said that they wanted to really use the characters powers to the full potential, so spidey could web swing and climb on walls and wolverine had his healing factor, so on and so on.

It's a great game if you just do the vs. mode. But you HAVE to do the story mode to unlock all the characters, which was alright but it would have been better if the story mode didn't suck.
I kept my game cause I knew I/my friends and I would be playing it again and again.

Just curious...
Why do u guys think there hasn't been any information released for this game yet if it's supposedly coming out this year, and we're like already almost half-way through the year?
There hasn't been any character confirmations, or screenshots, or even info on what platforms this game will be released for.
I'm very eager to learn more about this game, that is if Storm is a playable character (most likely). And I really hope they give it a storymode like with the first game, but improved (graphics, gameplay) and making it a lot more interactive. I'd love to play the story mode as Storm provided that she doesn't look like a slut like in part 1.
So why do u guys think there hasn't been any released info yet? Could this mean they're not intending on it to be a big deal like Marvel:Ultimate Alliance was?
