In the recent story arc, Logan is remembering the lives of a previous species of humanoid beasts called the Lupine during his most recent clash with Sabretooth (also argued to be their last, but this is comics.) Anyways, some big bad guy watches over the both of them and they both acknowledge him as their leader of the pack/master. Who is this character?

Hypothetically I think it may be Beast/ Hank McCoy, in a role he hasn't figured out yet.

Any ideas?

The story reminds me of the Earth X series wherein it was explained the bestial mutants are all a mutant subspecies of sorts from what i recall.
I never bought that series though so my recollections are vague.

I remember reading in a Wizard about ten years ago that a writer had planned to make Wolverine be an actual wolverine made human (sorta like what High Evolutionary does).

This arc is reminding me of that. I really hope that isn't where Loeb is going, because it sounds so very, very stupid.

THis is starting to sound like the Wolverine equivalent of "The Other" to me. Not good.

Sabretooth should have been his father. Simple and easy. That's what Claremont wanted

In my experience, Jeph Loeb is either on or off. This is way, way, way off. Terrible run on Wolverine, and the worst he's been in years. I dropped this after the second issue and won't bother with it until a new creative team is on.

Stupid story, stupid execution, glaring continuity flubs abound. No, Sir, I don't like it.

Joe Q should of just let Guegennheim write the arc.

Since fans figured it out, it is not such a good idea. I like Sabretooth & Wolverine being rivals though.

Exactly. I hope the man in shade is logan's brother we saw in Wolverine the End just so we can finally have all of logans family out in the open.
The connection between Creed and Logan should already be made. If not father then at least make him a relative along the lines of great-grandfather or cousin or something. Maybe that is what he meant by "You will become me."

I dunno, as weird as the whole lupine thing is I'm still going to wait until the whole story is revealed before officially calling it stupid. Also Wolverine Origin would negate the whole "Wolverine being an evolved Lupine" thing unless Thomas Logan actually decended from them and they were the reason why Sabertooth and Logan were like that.

Logan and Creed's rivalry was something pretty cool when it was established earlier so this is an important story I hope Jeph doesn't f**k up.

Sabertooth should've been Dog. That would've made so much sense to me. Yes, it would've been the obvious choice, but sometimes the obvious choice is the best choice.

Uhh I sort of figured the lupine were made up from his own psyche. I was thinking they represented actual things but were from a dream.

I have a nasty suspicion that that line is to be taken literally, and Creed is in fact Logan from an alternate future. As horrible an idea it is, I cant help thinking this is where Loeb is going with it.

Does anyone think that might be a time portal in the background? :(

Anyone remember "puppy" and his lot from the Wolvie series? I mean I am sure he was best forgotten, but Marvel digs some best forgotten stuff up from time to time.

So how about "puppy" is one of the Lupine?
