Adi Granov Covers: Iron Man #10 vs. Nova #3 hmmmm

Adi's art is awesome. I dont know how me makes such images, but when I got on board for Iron Man when it restarted, I faithfully waited and waited for each issue to come out.

His covers are also a sight to behold. Then I saw the solicitation that he is doing the covers for the upcoming Nova series.

It looks like something fishy is going on for 2 images in particular:

something funny is going on here - why wouldnt Granov just do a different image? A couple responses had me thinking that I was being negative about the pics. I think the art is great. I just wanted to point out the huge similarity to the fellow forum users and to see what everyone thinks

i'm not trying to knock on the artwork itself, but i just thought it was surprising to see the same artist use his own artwork for a cover that is very very similar to a previous cover he did. i've noticed artists using other artists as inspiration for their own, but something like this really really jumps out at me.

Maybe he was just too busy to start from scratch. That is funny though cus I would never have noticed it. :p

It's just the basic frame work that's similar, not too big of a deal. Both pieces are still pretty great.

He should put "after Granov" on the second one.

None of the actual elements of the image are re-used, it's just a similar layout. Maybe he needs to vary it up a bit, but I don't think you could say it's in any way unethical.

Adi Granov said on Jinxworld that he orginally had another image for the Nova series but Marvel liked that one despite it being similar to Iron Man 10.

It's just the basic frame work that's similar, not too big of a deal.
Yeah - they're similar, but it's not as if he's traced one onto the other and fiddled with the details - they don't line up at all.

well i meant for the iron man vs sentry brawl. I thought it was in an upcoming IM issue which would lead to The Sentry switching side, but since it's an old one ...
