How long will Bachalo stay on in X-men? Marvel.com has him listed with Ramos up to issue 200. Will he remain longer? I hope so, Im a big fan of his.

Thanks.

I think he's confirmed for the crossover, so I guess he's on the book at least until #207. He'll take turns with Ramos (ugh).

I hope for a long while, but if he must leave then put Steve McNiven on in his place (with Clayton Henry doing fill-ins to keep this book monthly).

That ought to improve sales.:D

I hope he is on for like another year. Muck like Cassady and Whedon were.

I thought he said he was gonna stay on until Marvel fires him.

I wish both of them would go elsewhere personally, especially Ramos, it's painful to look at his stuff.

Don't the girls say that to YOU all the time?

Lol. I don't like Ramos but Bachalo is amazing, Pandemic's arc won't be a favorite of mine because of it. This one looks GREAT though. Bachalo makes this book for me.

I'd rather Brooks did the fill in. Clayton Henry's small fill in issue on X-Men did not mesh well with Carey's story. But really, I prefer Chris B to say on forever and get another fill in for Ramos. Someone who doesn't use porn poses for the ladies... ;)

I'd love to have Bachalo all the time, but Ramos isn't that bad. I still have my gripes, but at least its lively and not <insert really unlively artist>.

I hope Bachalo stays on foreeeever though.

jen, if u read my post about the new animated series, rogue will be in wolverine and the xmen show, how cool is that?

No offense to anyone who likes him, but I just can't understand the draw of Bachalo. I can't pick up Xmen because both Bachalo's and Ramos's art makes me cringe.

They need to fire Bachalo and Ramos and get someone else to draw Carey's issues. Carey does some good action scenes but they're always hindered by really bad art.

Awww, I know you don't like them, but why'd you have to go as far to say that you think they should be fired? :o

I really like Bachalo's art. It's very energetic and stylized, and I prefer it immensely over art that is hyper-realistic to the point in which you can actually tell who an artist used for reference, or art in which every single person is built like an overly-muscular body builder. I think the simplicity in which the characters are drawn allows different aspects of each character to be even more defined. I know I've brought it up before, but I really like what he's doing with Rogue's cloak. And after watching 300, I like capes a whole lot more. :D

The only problem I have with him (and most people it seems) is that sometimes when he draws action scenes, the panels become an extremely cluttered mess. On one hand, it is great for depicting very face-paced and frenetic action, (and I love when he does this right, it can be gorgeous) but when things get to the point where you can't tell what's going on, well that's kinda bad.

I do think he's a really good fit with Mike Carey's story. So far it's been grim and gritty, but with a whole Sci-Fi bent to it, and Bachalo's quite good with that subject matter.

Ramos' style is a bit cartoony, and while I think his art is okay most of the time, even really good in some places; I really, really don't like how he overexaggerates facial expressions, or tries to fit in an excessive amount of bun or chest shots.

The thing is, the current designs of some charcaters just work with art like Bachalo's or Ramo's. Look how silly the Children looked when drawn by henry some issues ago. Cannonball and Lady M need more weird art too.

I really like Bachalo's art in the recent X-Men comic. It's his style is one of the reasons why I wanna get my hands on the X-Men:Supernovas TPB . It's also why I got the New Age of Apocalypse and his comic SteamPunk. ;) Even though Skottie Young will be the artist for the New X-Men in "Quest for Maqik", I wonder what the New X-Men would look like in Bachalo's style. :p

So that I won't have to look at his art anymore. It's nothing personal.

The only problem I have with him (and most people it seems) is that sometimes when he draws action scenes, the panels become an extremely cluttered mess. This is a huge problem IMO. For example, in the Supernovas arc where Sabes attacked Rogue and had her wrapped up in his chains, I honestly couldn't figure out what was going on until I had re-read the segment a few times. I wasn't sure if Rogue had used her powers to free herself or if Sam had tackled him.

I love Bachalo. I agree it can be a bit confusing and cluttered, but I think that's part of the appeal. I like Ramons. I like Henry's work on Alpha Flight, but haven't liked any of it since. I would love to see what Carlos Meglia could do with X-Men.

i think the problem with ramos is he is trying to hard to ride on Joe Madz way back then, who popularized the manga look of the x-characters, sometimes ramos' characters dont fit that bill at all and the faces look not only cartoony, but downright awful sometimes....

I hope he's around for quite a while. He goes well with Carey and these characters look really good under his pencil.

Ramos makes me barf. Bachalo, on the other hand, can feel free to inseminate my (nonexistent) womb

Bachalo and Ramos have a similar cartoony styles but Ramos's storytelling is clearer. I do prefer Chris's even though it's harder to decipher at times since I just like more stylized renditions of each character, Cannonball, Iceman, Cable, Rogue, Sabertooth all look awesome really.

His designs are also weird yet cool to look at when he's not loading up the characters with excessive junk accessories and weird bondage gear.

His stuff is just awesome. It jumps off the page.

Bachalo is so dynamic and interesting.

I suppose you would like a cookie cutter artist?

I'd settle for one with coherent story telling abilities.

I LOVE Bachalo on this book, and Ramos ain't that bad either. Hopefully both will stay on for the time being.
