I can't swear to it, but didn't they suggest that Batman and Batgirl were involved romantically? I thought I remembered Terry speaking with Comm. Barbara Gordon about her past life in the "Bat-Family" and her saying something about fighting by his side beyond some sort of dance and Terry being shocked.

Like I said, I'm not certain, but could anyone help me confirm this?

Besides, I like the pairing of her and Bruce vs. her and Dick.

It started in the Batman: The Animated Series season 3. Babs was dating Dick but she was shown to have a crush on Batman. With season 4, when the show went to the WB, Babs often flirted with Bruce and there was an episode that explained Dick's break from Batman and his subsequently becoming Nightwing. In that episode Bruce tells Babs his secret, bringing her into the Bat-Family in an effort to make Dick happy. Dick left but Babs stayed and subsequently flirted with Bruce the rest of the season, although nothing was shown that indicated they started a relationship then.

When Batman Beyond rolled around, yes, there was an episode in which Terry sat down to talk with Babs and she called her relationship with Dick "puppy love" and indicated her relationship with Bruce was something more (sorry, I don't remember the exact lines now). Terry says something along the lines of "sounds like you two had a relationship", Babs gives him a *look* and Terry goes "Whoa." Fans were expected to read between the lines. It was never said, though, when the relationship began and when it ended.

On commentary for one of the episodes on the Batman: The Animated Series, vol. 3 DVD's Bruce Timm remarks on showing Batgirl having a crush on Batman and says that fans were always writing that they found it creepy and disturbing and Timm says that was *why* the writers did it -- they wanted to do something really different from what had been in the comics for years and they wanted it to seem slightly creepy and disturbing.
