This is awesome. It's great to see him back on the book for this. I can't wait to see his Iron Fist and Dr. Strange.

Cool, I'm looking forward to that.

Did he and Bendis fall out over the lateness of the early NA issues or was it something else?

More squinty-eyed Spider-Man!

I kid. I'm sure it'll be fine. I'm still uncertain about picking it up, though.

I loved the last New Avengers annual... no complaints about decompression whatsoever when you're dealing with a one shot. And I really liked the Ultimate Spider-Man annuals too. So anything with the words Annual and Bendis attatched has my attention.

And I'm happy Finch is doing something Avengers related too. That's cool. He and Bendis started the whole New Avengers thing back in Disassembled, so it's nice to see him doing stuff here and there.

Finch's art is superb. The detail that goes into his wok is just phenomenal. I think the thing that made him stop drawing NA was the fact that it was just too many characters for him to draw?

At the comicon in Toronto last year, I vaguely remember him saying that he prefers single character books so he can focus on the details

I do recall reading something once where he said that he didn't know a lot of the characters he was drawing. I believe it was a post on the Bendis board when he draw Jigsaw breaking Spidermans wrist in the Breakout storyline when it was suppossed to be Piledriver.

I don't want to speculate on what happened too much, but I will say that he didn't sound comfortable or familiar doing Avengers.

Very cool, I think this team will be perfectly suited for Dave's art style.

Frank D'Armata is undoubtedly doing the colors but hopefully Dave tones down the over rendering (such as his Moon Knight work) and goes back to the somewhat cleaner style of his initial NA run.

I'd like to see him on Uncanny X-men with Brubaker (rotating arcs with Billy Tan, the current penciler). He could even get to draw some of his favorites like Cable and Wolverine. Mike Carey has strongly hinted that Cable won't be a part of his cast after the big X-over, so Ed could pick him up for his team. And depending on what Marvel does with Astonishing, Wolverine might be a possibility too. If nothing else he could show up as a guest-star.

But Finch drawing Nightcrawler, Warpath, Cable and even Darwin would be great IMO.

Man he seems to be a nice guy.

But I wonder why Marvel tease us with a cool cover like that and not put him on X-Men...?
