Spoilers...
So JMS takes over the series, and with it so does the decompression. The Ultimate heroes resolve to rescue Reed after a little spidey/fury banter regarding Thor's teleportation abilities. Meanwhile Reed and Emil discover the blobs attacking the Supremeverse were single celled organisms that mutated in the demensional portal, emil asked Reed what causing genocide feels like, read flips out and attacks Emil, who in turn flicks a switch on his collar and electrocutes Reed. Also Fury is up to some sort of shady business and may have actually engineered the alien invasion in the Supremeverse. Cut to Zarda stroking Hyperions ego in space and trying to convince him to take over the world, all of a sudden the earth heroes show up and hyperion attack end of ish.
Not sure what I thought of this ish, the whole series is moving sooooo slowly four issues could have easily been 36 pages.

Its going very slow. But I did like this issue. The thing with Spider-man and Thor was kind of funny. And I also like how Fury didn't want it to seem like he was shown up by a kid.
You have to wonder what Fury is really up to. It looks like like when this ends he might have blood on his hands.
The story does move a bit slowly... I think it'll make a solid trade paperback. But I passed on buying the singles (even though I do read them and enjoy them well enough).
Still, I'm a sucker for cross over events. It's just fun seeing heroes that normally don't interact at all duking it out.

The battle star galactica guy did a good job on this issue and predict he'll move the story along alot faster. Beginning was more like a torture of reading but now this issue was entertaining and enjoyed the Spider-man scene with Thor. Wish this came out monthly instead of every 2 months.

it is monthly...but there's a gap in between writers.

The battle star galactica guy
Yeah.
Not almost in order of appearance:
Everything is moving slowly and all characters really takes their sweet freaking time to explain or just generally say stuff.
Nick Fury explains how they all can follow the Supreme people to their world.
The whole Ultiverse pats Spidey on his back for explaining Nick Fury's idea in moron. (Spidey's a complete moron and should have been hammered to death by Thor in the name of justice and Valhalla and puppies. At least in this issue.)
Nick Fury explains why Spidey is a complete moron.
Obligatory "You scare me, Locue" section!
Greg Land draws more panty shots on (from? by? signed?) Kitty Pryde. Now, one can debate the morality of drawing panty shots of fourteen year old comic book characters but at the moment I'm just up to my ears in kleenex with the Cable/Deadpool issue where Wade dresses up as Marvel Girl. Long story short: who gives a shit about panty shots? Don't answer that. It's an multiple answers question thingamajig.
Reed is the Supremeverse's bitch, just like we all want him.
Nick Fury goes Secret War.
Porn Star Woman tells Supreme Man that they love each other and lots of other things in outer space. Could have been handled in one panel, tops.
Thor and Supreme Man launches what will erupt into an intimate, but not even slightly homo-erotic bear hug.
To be continued.

The dialogue in this was painful. I used to be a big Straczynski fan, but he's just totally lost me lately.
Why is Ultimate Thor talking like 616 Thor all of a sudden? How the hell can you have a lame gag about how to pronounce Mjolnir, when the characters are supposed to be actually speaking? By the way guys, there's no 'j' sound in there.
It felt like JMS channeling Bendis, and doing a horrible job of it. He can't seem to manage banter, and I wish he wouldn't try.

peter called fury, Nicky-Poo lol
anyway, some of the dialogue seems forced. how they tried to make it go as people were telling jokes. "Nick got totally OWNED" and stuff like that. but ok issue nonetheless.

I actually like the pace of this series because they pay attention to details that I think get left out a lot of time when the books move really fast.

Good issue but Ultimate Thor's sudden switch to MU Thor-speak was distracting and confusing.
Honestly I was dissapointed. We didnt really learn all that much in this issue. We learnt about the creatures attacking, but other than that it felt like the issue dragged out so they could end it with a cliff hanger.
This issue delt with what was probably an real life hours worth of events.

There were about 5 whole pages (including a 2 page spread) of just "Thor and helicarrier flying". Aaargh, talk about slooooow. Yeah, pretty pictures, but enough already, get the story moving!

It seems like for the most part everyone is getting exactly what I am from this series...hopefully things start to pick up soon, I'm really wondering where this thing is going and we're almost halfway through already.

But without question, they are upskirt drawings meant to titillate. Weird.
Even considering all of those Thor/Carrier panels, this is still the most compressed issue to date. Utter crap.

Thor reverting to Shakespeare-talk?
Yucky yucky lame-o crap sauce.
One of Millar's best moves in The Ultimates was losing that major element of the Thor cheese-factor. There is no explanation for this change that won't make me roll my eyes in disgust, laugh hysterically in amazement, or both. What a horrible, horrible idea.
Despite that, I'm still intrigued by this story. Maybe I just adore the character of Emil Burbank and am happy as a puppy that the sick bastard finally showed up in the series. I'm actually curious to see where this story goes for five more issues.

If the pace doesn't pick up we won't even see a REAL fight till the last issue, and forget about any sort of resolution.

I hated how Thor talked, I wanted to stop reading. U Thor is awesome and 616 Thor is not so much.
Yea, those shots of Kittie were meant to be titilating I think, but I also think that the artist, writer, editor or whoever have no idea what the hell is up in the ultimate universe, as evident by the Thor talk. So they might be 'drawing' 616 Kittie who is not underage. Or maybe they are trying to appeal to kids these days, idk.

We learned that Greg Land is using Shaq as his model for fury. There is a cover of men's health or some other fitness magazine with shaq on the cover that I think Greg copied.
Would Greg Land take a challenge from the fans? Would he lock himself in a clear walled cube at some random comic con with only paper, pencils and a script and then let the fans see that?

You mean Bendis' issues WEREN't decompressed?

well, there are three authors for this big crossover story. maybe JMS is taking credit for this issue when it was bendis who really wrote the dialogue. one of the signatures of bendis' writing is aluding to a big conspiracy. it's painfully obvious that fury is responsible for this crisis, but who was he talking to, someone on earth? (i'm just going to assume fury carries an interocitor with him at all times)
by the way, who was the chick talking to the guy in outer space? i don't know much about squadron supreme, but she seemed like a villian.

Okay... this is just too stupid for words. Finally Land gets to draw a character where it is sort of okay to cpoy/paste a magazine photo, and he picks the wrong guy to copy.
Also, Verily Medieval Thor, he's likely to stay around. Loeb has indicated to be aiming for something more traditional, Avengers-like, and I assume that since Loeb is penning the final arc of this, his characterisation of the Ultimates would be given preference over Millar's.

anyone else agree that JMS should take over USM after bendis leaves? his portrayal of ultimate spidey was perfect and i would love to have him replace bendis
