This book is just too much fun. This issue we see Laura cut lose with the Facility soldiers.
After she kills stupid Desmond, X-23 runs after Megan and Debbie. Mother and daugther hide themselves in the bathroom and take a shower, so that the scent that makes X go crazy is all gone. They get lucky and Laura comes back to reality just before she stabs them.
Meanwhile, we learn that Kimura was "made" by the Facility to contain Laura. She says that to Captain America and Matt Murdock as the interrogation continues.
Back to the story, the Facility breaks in and Laura hides Meggan and Debbie in the basement. What happens next is a FUN hide and seek game between Laura and the Facility soldiers, with great panels by Choi. That dude has a great sense of storytelling!! And LOL at Laura throwing those big knifes at the soldiers faces!!
At the end, though, Kimura surprises X-23 by breaking her neck!!!
Good and fun read. Highly enjoyable and highly recommended!!
Awesome issue, greatly enjoyed it! I thought this issue spelled the doom of Megan... but she's hanging in there for another issue at least! Can't wait to see where this all goes... 2 issues left and we still have a confrontation with Logan to go!

Yeah, I can't wait to see her meeting with Logan. I love when the two of them interact.

Oo!
Yay! Megan and Debbie Servive... so far!
What was the point of Kimura braking Laura's neck?
Well, I get my issue in a few hours, can't wait!!
Oo! And from the previews, I so called Megan and Debbie running to the bathroom to wash it off.

I loved this issue. The pacing is amazing and the art is gorgeous. Great decapitations and maimings too!
I'd love to see X-23 and Winter Soldier work together at some point.

I am loving Choi's artwork in this series, although i've slightly lost interest in Kimura being as we know what her ultimate fate is as a result of last weeks New X-men. So is the final issue the one with Logan? and is this series pre uncanny xmen "cruelest cut" or Deepest cut" or whatever it was called. if so then the last issue may just be a link into that.
But generally a superb issue liked seeing her cut loose.

Before those issues that include the worst characterization of X-23 ever.

What was the point of Kimura braking Laura's neck?I'm guessing to stop her for an enough period of time in order to take care of Debbie and Megan, which I hope doesn't happen.
I was kinda surprised they didn't die in this issue. Megan is so smart! Water, duh!:p
I love this art. This art should be in comic books forever. :o

Ugh, X-23 fan's just mostly forget the mess that was her in Uncanny... Her first two issues where okay-ish... but from then on? Blah!

The issue was a little bit of a letdown, just because not much happened at all and there were no big revelations or surprises. But it could just be that the issue only seems that way because in contrast the other issues have kicked so much ass all over the place. This one was just ok.

I was able to read the entire issue in about 20 seconds haha But it was still good and absolutely gorgeous artwork.

I'm sorry, I came in late on this book. Can anyone tell me when this story was placed? It must have been before CW, but can anyone place it before Murdochs imprisonment, or was it before X-23 was allowed into the X-men?
If I'm not mistaken it takes place around the beginning of Morrison's New XMen.

Indeed. But didn't we sort of know enough about that already? Would have been interesting to see more about Kimura herself. Like what exactly her power is...is her skin harder than adamantium? (seems unlikely) Is it another feature of X-23's programming that keeps her from harming Kimura? What exactly is it?

I'm going for number 2 - that X-23's programming is keeping her from harming Kimura. Once Emma Frost releases the block, then watch out Kimura.

Didn't Laura say to Julian, in New X-Men that her skin/body is indestructible? Or somthin'? Only her inside's can be harmed. - Heart, brain etc. So, Laura's claws can't get through... Ju could kill her, with his TK. Possibly Kitty?

Yes I thought thats what was meant - that her skin is indestructible. But that just seems so crazy unlikely. Comon - its adamantium!

Hmm Laura could still possibly snap her neck couldn't she? Possibly the eyes as well. Pretty brutal huh? Haha
I'd love to see them have a re-match.. especially if Emma removes that block from Laura so that she can actually counterattack Kimura.

so? shes clearly indestructible jullian through her through a stone wall and x-23 set bombs off on her and it didn't kill her. so why is it so hard to believe x-23's pathetic claws couldn't cut through her?

Well, it's definitely before Civil War. As you say Murdock's not in jail, but he has actually been released now, in current continuity.
But I would have thought that the bigger 'tell' would be that Captain America is still alive. ;)
I think in all liklihood this series is pre-X-Men. We'll have to see. I'm really enjoying it. Kyle and Yost continue to make me find Laura a truly fascinating character.

Before she joined the X-Men. We don't have enough details to guess if it was pre or post NYX.

It's before the Mini series NYX and NYX is just before she joins the X-Men in Uncanny. She's 15 when she's talkin to Matt and Cap, and she's 16 now, in New X-Men.
