Use the above link to check out a preview of Nova 1 coming out on April 11th. Includes 5 previously unseen pages with dialogue. Its Nova having a go at some refugees from the Wave Army and yes the Rich/Worldmind banter that defined Annihilation Nova, and missed in the main series, in back on form thanks to DNA. Lovely art by Chen!

"I'm Nova. You're Dead. Allow me to Demonstrate" I agree. That's a classic line. Now only if he uses those tactics on Iron Man; then I'll really be happy. Of course it'll have to change to something like: "I'm Nova. You're in the £$%"! Allow me to Kiss you're sorry Iron "£$%%!!"

This is one of the few upcoming Marvel projects which I can truly say I'm looking forward to.

Have you also seen the pages from comicscontinuum.com? There's one pic where Nova's helmet looks like a three-leafed clover. When my wife saw it, she stated "Nova's wearing a bonnet!"
Sean Chen needs to learn not to get carried away with the bottom of the helmet. Otherwise, this is automatically my favorite Marvel series. Nova looks like a spaceman.

There is a cheap re-cap one-shot coming out sometime soon, that will help you catch-up if you need it.

I've read Annihilation, and suggest you read it because it was simply amazing. It's too bad it was overshadowed by Civil War.
Anyway, I'm also looking forward to sinking my teeth into some new and improved Nova. With covers such as these, my imagination can't help but run wild with anticipation:

I loved Annihilation. Both the story and art were phenomenal. Even if you do not purchase the individual mini-series, you should pick up Annihilation.
Nova will be accessible to readers who did not read Annihilation. But it would give you great back story. And since you want to read the new Nova series, I would definitely reccommend Annihilation: Nova. I still have it in my hands!

You really should check out these preview pages also. They show Nova in outer space communicating with the World Mind. The Worldmind is telling Rich about another Nova Centaurian-level request beacon. Nova opens a stargate, flys through it, and instantly appears in the area needing help. This also has some ominous under-tones mentioned in the Nova: Annihilation series. The World Mind tells Rich he is concerned about his high pulse rate. Rich passes it off as his excitement in doing this type of work. Remember in Annihilation, the WM told Rich he was concerned about his heart.

The comicscontinuum preview shows Rich conversing with indigenous creatures on a planet the Nova Corp has protected for years. They ask Nova if he needs them to clear more area on their landing pad for the Nova Corp. Rich tells them he is all there is of the Corp, which shocks the creatures. He then battles the giant robot, which was their Omega Weapon, gone into action due to the Annihilation Wave. They want the genie back in the bottle.

In one of the interviews about the Nova series, Abnett and Lanning mentioned that Rich's mental state would be one of the underlying themes of the series. It sounds like they're touching on it a little bit right out of the box.
This series looks so freaking cool. I LOVED the scene of Rich flying through the stargate!

I've never been a big fan of the 3D style starburst on the helmet since Darick Robertson added it back in the New Warriors. I've always preferred the flatter look. The 3D version always reminds me of those red stars you'd see on the front of trains in the Soviet Union. :)
But shoot, if that's the worst thing that comes out of the series, that's okay with me!! :)

I do think that previews should be kept to a minimum of say 3 pages at best. But even if all comic sites did that, eager fans who have advance preview copies more often than not scan them and post the entire thing on the net..and yeah I'm very much guilty of going to such sites ot having copies sent to me and yes they do spoil it a bit..but I do still ultimatley prefer to buy and hold the comic in your hand and read it. BUT then again how long will it be till full on-line downloadable comics appear on a regular basis..just pay for it online and print your copy out yourself. The digital revolution is fast approaching....
But back to the latest preview pages. Chen's art Look stunning and its a blast reading Nova/Worldmind banter back in print. And a bit ref Doug; I do like the 3D star effect on the helmet but believe me its a bloody devil of a thing to draw and since going to 8 points even more so..I'd wish we go back to 6 points! And yeah Chen does need to tone the curves of the helmet a bit but give him time; he's going to do Nova proud!

Before ANNIHILATION PROLOGUE came out, Marvel released eighteen pages worth of previews, give or take.

I'm curious to know on the SHRA's reaction to Nova when he comes to earth. And if the SHRA are gonna not only make him register which is no problem but the biggie is trying to take advantage of him by trying to force him to stay in the states without consideration that he has to go into space to police the universe.

I agree, I do have the say I didn't mind the partial 3d version when Rich first
took on the full Novaforce and the Worldmind in the Annihilation Prolouge. The
way it was drawn on that first page, OH OH Man! After looking at the preview
pages with dialog. I have to say I want to start a poll about rebuilding the
Corps. I'm against it. They couldn't stop the AWave as a group. I perfer Rich
having the power. There Can Be Only One! I do have an idea, that there
would be one other, the Centurian woman, who Rich tried to save, actually
didn't die from the fireball she took in the face, the helmet protected her, but
she was captured and used to power one of the bug ships. Nova when coming up on the ship, receives a distress signal via mind link, and rescues her. She joins Rich as he puts together a new group, A Guardians of the Galaxy in this universe. They might even become a couple due to their link.
Quasar(Phylla) and Starlord(Quill) join also. Samaya would have to be drawn
like the picture on your website though. The artist on the prolouge didn't
know that the Centurian women look like human woman except they have no hair, a fin, and are blue skinned.

Woah. I hadn't seen that one before. This is going to be a damn good series. I'm just about to check out this first issue now and I'm already looking forward to the rest. Poor Robbie man, I feel really bad for him every time I see his "new costume." Must hurt like crap. At first I wasn't sure why Nova would be fighting him (I didn't read the New Warriors so didn't know he was a member) but -
"Future solicitations for Nova feature Penance battling his former best friend and fellow New Warrior because he has yet to register since his return to Earth after eliminating the threat of the Annihilation Wave"

This might be more a Civil War question (or maybe even an Astonishing X-Men question), but S.W.O.R.D. is supposed to deal with aliens and the like (according to Astonishing X-Men though not sure if it's ever been referenced elsewhere) was there something in Civil War that put Tony in charge of it (and hence dealing with the "alien" threat.) I'm perfectly fine with a "no, just gloss over this mishap we just wanted to Nova to play off Tony and Penance in the early arc," I'm just curious if such a change (Tony in charge of SWORD) did take place.
