This isn't a spoiler thread or anything. I have no idea how long Tennant will last. And I enjoy him, mostly.
I was just wondering: who would you like to see as the next Doctor?
My first choice would be Richard Coyle. He played Jeffrey on the tv show Coupling. Fantastic comedic actor.

The dude who plays Baltar on BSG.

James Callis would indeed rock.

Anthony Stewart Head would also be fun.

If that is a pic of Ron Jeremy as the file name suggests, it'd make Torchwood redundant.

The Doctor: What are you gonna do, brother, when the timelord runs wild on you!?!
Dalek: Run.
Dalek2: What?
Dalek: I said, RUN!

Hugh Laurie would be a kick ass Doctor, but you'd have to wait until House got canceled.
I've heard that Bill Nighy considered to play the Doctor in the new series when it first started, and I think he would be great in the role.
I always thought Geoffrey Rush could do a decent Pertwee.
Eric Idle was also up for the 8th Doctor role... it sort of makes you think a little.

It'll never happen, but I'd love it if the next Doctor was played by Dylan Moran, but with the personality of his Bernard Black character from "Black Books".:D

Oooo, that would be my choice!
Come to think of it, I'd suggest Steven Coogan, too.

What, you'd pick Moran as the Doctor, when Bill Bailey's stood right there?! :D
Joking aside (well, semi-joking), I hope they go for some of the same left-field casting that gave us Eccleston as Nine - shake up perceptions a bit, challenge the notion of what the Doctor is.
I found out the other day that Hugh Grant was offered the role of the ninth Doctor and now really regrets turning it down. Ha! You don't say! Back to frothy, rom-com Hell for you, posho!

I've heard that Bill Nighy was under consideration or passed on the role of Doctor #9. No clue on how legit it is.
And Nighy would be fantastic.
I couldn't possibly have a problem with Geoffrey Rush. Though I'd like to see him play the Doctor darkly. Perhaps a bit like his character in Elizabeth.

On one of Izzard's older shows, he did a standup bit about Doctor Who. The best part - "This is Steve the Dalek, he has two death rays. He's very dangerous. This is Kev the Dalek, he has two plungers... He doesn't really count."
