View Full Version : What film should DC comics do next?

Well, it looks like the next DC films coming up are Watchmen, and the next Batman movie, featuring Heath Ledger as the Joker.

After that, where do you think DCU should go next?

Here are three ideas I have - all involving Wonder Woman...

Wonder Woman - She gets her own movie. As much as I love the character, I don't know if any of her rogues gallery is good enough to carry the villain role here. Maybe Circe.

World's Finest - Combine Brandon Routh's Superman with Christian Bale's Batman. I'd probably have the plot be about Lex Luthor being elected US President, and one of his first acts in office would be the Presidential pardoning of the Joker. ;) Lex and Joker would then form an alliance to bring down Batman/Superman. I was thinking that for an interesting shocking twist at the end, you could have Lex/Joker have a trick up their sleeve... a trick named Circe, who could take Superman down given his weakness to magic. We could probably have Wonder Woman show up out of nowhere to save the day, and have this movie be the lead-in to...

The Justice League - With or with out a lead-in, I think that this could be absolutely awesome. We've already had the Fantastic Four, so I think that a movie like this is something that could be pulled off. Not sure what the plot should be, though.

So... what do you fellow DC fans think?

Shazam!

I always thought a Plastic Man film would do well.

Doom Patrol with the current twist on Brain/Chief relationship would be cool.

Green Arrow: I cant get enough of the character from JLU and Smallville and his story seems complex enough to fit into the big screen.

A shame Ledger is playing as Joker because IMO he would be good as Oliver Queen.

I can only see Green Lanter be done right in animated format. Since Marvel is doing animated projects and DC has a few along the way then an animated Green Lantern movie is the right way to go.

The Flash, although it would be pretty reliant on bullet time, a narrative film trick that I'm getting pretty bored of seeing.

The Flash or Green Lantern would sound fun to watch actually.

Challengers of the Unknown. With the right casting, it could be another Ocean's 11.

A Metal Men CGI cartoon.

Kamandi: The Last Boy on Earth. I think kids could potentially love this character if done right.

Aquaman - Captalise off Entourage setting the movie up.

Personally i'd like to see Jonah Hex.

The next one will be The Flash or Green Lantern.

First and foremost, NOT a superhero film.
Sergeant Rock, Blackhawk, Gravedigger, Haunted Tank, Adam Strange, Bat Lash, Dr.Thirteen...

However my personal picks would be Jonah Hex or Enemy Ace. Maybe Unknown Soldier.

Power of Shazam! is my bet.

DC/WB have been wanting to get that proprty off the ground for years. Especially lately.

With all the advancements in special effects these days, I think a GREEN LANTERN movie is well well overdue. If done right, I think we'd have an epic on our hands. I'm not even the biggest GL fan out there and I'd preorder my ticket and be there opening day/night.

Let's just say Sinestro is trying to get some artifact away from Abin Sur and Abin Sur's GL partner(think how the modern lanterns have "cop"-like partners) who are holding it for safe keeping. Low on power and injured in an epic battle with Sinestro, Abin and his partner steal a ship and head for a tiny planet in a far out, remote area of sector 2814, Earth.

Sinestro catches up with them and kills Abin's partner before Abin makes a daring warp drive type escape. He crashes on an earth Air Force base, gives his ring to Jordan and tells Jordan to let the ring help him find a partner, and to defend whatever sinestro's after with everything in him.

With the Lantern's guidence, Jordan picks his longtime friend, former Marine and current archetect John Stewart.

Insert some DBZ style sky fight scenes, some drama, and a few nods to fans(perhaps John and Hal have to pick alternates at some point, and we see Kyle, Guy, or both) and Kablooey, instant box office.

Now I came up with that in under 3 minutes off the top of my head. I'm sure David Goyer or someone could sit down and write a hardcore fan pleasing yet newbie accessable script.

I heard DC wanted Superman Returns to be a "Star Wars" type event, I believe that done well, Green Lantern could be that event.

A Green Lantern movie does seem like a perfect fit for a Hollywood blockbuster. I mean, mix Star Wars, The Right Stuff, Training Day and Three Kings with super-heroes and you've got the "Sinestro trains Hal Jordan" storyline. With today's effects, a bold visual style and challenging story that isn't affraid of the political undertones that Sinestro in Korugar will inevitably bring up, you could have a heckuva great summer movie.
