The season 3 finale for ST: TNG "The best of both worlds" was a real shocker when Picard appeared on screen as a borg. I couldn't wait for the next season to start with that cliff hanger.
Venture Bros., S1. They're clones, CLONES!!!! O.O

Battlestar Galactica Season 1. Adam laying out on on console bleeding out was a great image. While not exactly a season finale, the series finale to Angel is one of my all time favorites. Lorne is a total badass.

Sledge Hammer ! Season 1
Crap, that's what I was thinking going down the list.
Ummm, S1 of 24? The downer ending pretty much came out of nowhere.

The only one that made me yell at the TV when it ended.
It was on tape and I had no idea the hour was up (I was ff the ads).
Glad I was the only one in the house.

Reboot season 3. The show ends early, and then launches into a five minute musical recap of the season set to "I am the very model of a modern major general." That's just awsome.

I dunno, season 2 ends with:
Doc Venture: What did I miss?
Hank: The guy from Labrynth just turned into a bird!

The Best of Both Worlds defines cliffhangers for me. They set it up so well that it really seemed possible that Picard was being written out.

Two words, which, if you know 'em, give you a chill down the spine every time.

I was pretty shocked at the end of 24 season one, but the cliffhanger at the end of the second steals the show
Angel - Season One: Didn't she disintegrate?
Lois & Clark - Season Two: "Will you Marry Me?" "Who's asking? You. . .or Superman?"

Maybe I am just a softie, but the ending of Season 2 of The Office when Jim confesses his love for Pam had me anxiously awaiting the beginning of the next season all summer.

High Incident.
Nearly half of the cast gets shot up during their retelling of the Hollywood bank robbery. And Officer Helgado(Lisa Vidal) breaks down and finally admits she's in love with Officer Mike Rhoades(Blair Underwood)...unfortunately he's comatose because he's one of the guys that got ripped apart by the bank robbers.

Angel Season III when Connor drowned Angel in the bottom of the ocean.
Alias Season II when Sydney wakes up after nearly two years.
Farscape Season IV - When Crichton and Aeryn get blown to pieces (Thankfully I didn't get into the series until the weeks before the mini series finally wrapped this up several years later)
24 Season I - In retrospect its not surprising, in fact it would have been predictable, but at the time (before we all knew how much the writers love to torture Jack) it was shocking to see his wife get killed at the very end of the day.
Battlestar Galactica Season II - Totally didn't see the occupation coming. And season III (if the alleged spoilage is true) could top everything.

I saw the last one coming the moment I noticed that the guy that told him to enter the building was Chinese.

Most shocking:
Farscape season 4: Did not see this coming at all!! When it happened, at first my jaw was open, then I was upset with Sci-Fi for their stupid 'thanks' message and then I laughed. What a shocking 'series/season' finale. And thankfully they were able to do the Peacekeeper Wars mini-series!
Battlestar Galactica season 2: I wasn't expecting this one either. Really shocked me and had me on the edge of my seat!
Battlestar Galactica season 1: Just jaw dropping.
Battlestar Galactica season 3: Hasn't happened yet, but I'm betting it will be shocking!
Angel season 5: series finale...yeah right! Ugh. This was shocking in a BAD way imo. Angel and especially Lorne acting out of character, my favorite character on Angel dies, AND we get a NON-ENDING?! Its not even a cliffhanger. This episode just STOPS. ugh. This one definitly shocked me. I expected so much better out of Angel...
Alias season 2: Talk about shocking. Whew.
Alias season 4: Bam. Another shocking Alias finale!
Buffy season 5: Shocking and really sad. Liked it, but glad that Upn picked the show back up. I wouldn't have wanted the show to end that way...
Buffy season 7: shocking. Liked it too.
