Even though I'm the biggest crybaby on the planet who's never been in a real fight I have an impressive display of scars. On my chest I have three or four in vertical scar due to the heart surgery I had when I was a baby. Thankfully the scar did not stretch as I grew older so its the same size it was when they first cut me.
On my left wrist I have a inch to and inch of a half scar that I got when I fell throw a window when I was seventeen. As they were stitching me up I had to convince the ER person on duty that I hadn't tried to kill myself.
Next to the scar on my left wrist I have another vertical scar that I got when my brother tripped and the Renalds aluminum foil serrated edge cut me as I caught him.
On my left leg I have a quarter size circular scar but I can't remember how I got it. So I was wondering if you guys had any scars and if so how did you get them?

I have a bite scar right under my lower lip -- apparently I tripped at a toddler and bit myself.
I have a "pit" scar on my right knee -- fell playing sidewalk tag in elementary school, on a gravel drive. A pebble got embedded in the knee, and got scabbed over. The skin healed under it, but the indentation remained.
Scar on the left heel, where a fire door from the elementary school closed on it (didn't get the foot out of the way quickly enough).
Very faint, short scar on the back of my right hand, due to a scratch gained in a brangle with a bully-girl in junior high.
Faint oval scar on left outside forearm, where my sister managed to puncture me with sewing scissors. She had been standing, holding them open for some reason, suddenly turned around and wham! right into my arm.
They're none of them very interesting. At least I don't think so.

Do burns count? I've got two I'm... well, not proud of but...
One time I was taking something out of the oven. I was wearing oven mitts. However, between where the mitts ended and the sleeves started, there was an expanse of uncovered arm. That arm brushed against the still red-hot upper element of the oven. It actually didn't hurt all that much--I jerked my arm away immediately. But I still have a narrow white line where the element touched.
As for the second, I had a heavy saucepan on the burner. It might have been cast-iron, not sure. But it drew heat really well. I was enthusiastically stirring something in the pot. A little TOO enthusiastically. A bit of food went flying and wedged between the stove and the wall. I braced my hand against the pot while I used my spoon to lever the food out of the crack. Result: one almond-shaped third-degree burn about twice the size of a normal almond. :o

Let's see....
I have a scar that runs all the way down my third finger on my right hand. Got that when a bitchy neighbor pulled me out of her tree when I was 9. I was holding onto a branch that had been cut at an angle. You can imagine what happened.
I have a scar on my left elbow where I skidded about a yard on pavement after jumping a home-made ramp on my bicycle [around 10 years old there]. Got it patched up and went right back to jumping again.
You know how they say never whittle towards your hand? I did. Scar on my right hand.
On my forehead is a scar that just looks like a wrinkle these days. My babysitter had an auto accident when I was 3. That was back when they didn't harp on seatbelts as much, and they still made solid metal dashboards.
On my scalp is a scar where my sister's teeth imbedded themselves while we were playing with my father. We'd run up like we were going to tackle him and he'd push us back. I went back, right into my sister, who was laughing at the time. CHUNK!
On my left arm I have two small scars where hot grease from a frying vat at Hardees splashed on me while cleaning.
On my left leg there is a scar where I was breaking down some wooden pallets. I was kicking them apart. One piece went down, came back up, and poked the nail right into my leg.
Hmmm. I seem to have a destructive streak in me.

Four.
One directly under my lower lip (barely noticeable unless you look for it) when I was like three... my uncle was tossing me about and fucked up.
One is on the middle part of my arm where my childhood pet monkey bit me (yes, I'm not making this up) when I was like 12.
One is on my arm from a client who was having severe behavior issues (he has mental retardation) and was attacking people. In trying to assist him from attacking other clients he scratched up one of my arms bad enough there is a perm. scar there. At the time it was a bloody mess (bad enough my doctor asked me if I tried to kill myself before by how bad it looked, lol).
The last one is on the palm of my left hand. I had to have a tumor removed. Sexy, huh?

I got a...forget the word for it but it is a scar that looks like a mole almost. I got it when I was playing Captain America with my round sled and wasn't fast enough to block an icicle.
My second scar was when I got 7 stitches on my finger from helping somebody open a can of cheese.
And then there is a very faint one where I was using a broom stick as a light saber to fight a friend of mine. It is almost gone though.

assorted scars on both my hands,(around my knuckles and on the side of my hands) scars of being short tempered or being clumsy, in some cases both.
A woman recently looked at my hands and told me she thought I "Scarred Pretty." I know I should have been disturbed, but I was flattered.

I've got lots of scars and if I tried to recount them all here it would take all night.

I had a spinal tap when I was 8 months old, but I don't really know of any scars from that.
I do have a small one on the middle finger of my right hand, though; it's warped my fingerprint a little.

I have about an inch long scar in my right eyebrow that you can clearly see because it splits my eyebrow and one about the size of a nickel on my right knee that I got at the same time playing football in 3rd grade. I still don't know exactly how it happened but we were playing two hand touch in the street and I was the youngest by a few years and the oldest was just starting highschool and I think he ran me over. We were on the same team and the last thing I remember is the other teams qb getting ready to throw and then all of a sudden I woke up in the arms of another kid that was carrying me home. That's also the only time I've ever been knocked unconscious.
I have two very small ones that you'd only be able to see if I pointed them out to you on my right ring finger from where I had pins put in it after I broke it punching someone in highschool about 7 years ago.
My most recent is a burn on my right middle finger from a couple weeks ago that I got taking something out of the oven and my finger rubbed against the top oven rack.

Bigass train-track scar down my right knee, like 8 inches long, from major reconstructive surgery when I was a teen. A smaller one on my other knee from when I had trouble walking as a kid and kept falling onto sharp pointy things.
White scar on my wrist. It looks like I slashed it, but it's actually from having to handle an injured cat.
Little tiny stuff on my right hand from those big wheel sander things in shop class, I kept misjudging the distance and sanding the skin off my knuckles.
A lot of scars under my skin, but the only visible stuff is mostly that.

Hmmm, let's see.
I have some interesting ones - including little gray lines in my eyes from muscle correction surgery done the old fashioned way by slicing through the eyeball.
Scar on my right thigh from having a suspicious mole removed. Scar on my left knee that's thankfully fading from having a run in with a broken screw sticking out of a chair. Small round scar on my forehead from when my mom decided that my very first pimple needed to come out rather violently with a needle.
You can also still see the spot where I had a third hole in my left ear and the outside scar from having my bellybutton pierced and then finding out 3 weeks later that I was pregnant - no point in keeping that!
Those are the only ones I can think of, unless you count the brightly colored scars left by paying someone to poke me repeatedly with a needle to make pretty pictures on my skin . . . but that's probably another thread.
Oh wait, there is the fun scar on my left thumb left when a folding knife came back to bite when I was cutting up t-shirts for a wet t-shirt contest

Scars eh? I'm assuming we're talking purely physical!
Let's see...
I have a scar on each elbow from minor surgery for basically "tennis elbow"... and a major long scar under the left elbow from muscle reconstruction. Ouch.
I have a little scar on my left ring finger from when I use to work on sheet metal installing heating systems... that sucker bled for awhile.
A scar (more like a "nick") on the bottom of my nose from surgery for a deviated septum (I would NEVER go through that again... getting that gauze out? Did anyone see that scene in Arnold's Mars film where he was yanking that tracking device out through his nostril? EXACTLY how it felt).
A scar on my inner thigh from surgery... hmmmmmmmm seem's that's where MOST of my scars come from.
I was more of a "broken bones" type when I was a young lad. Left elbow three times, right index finger once, left wrist from high school football. No scars.. but trust me, when it rains.. it hurts still.

Other than the regular assortment of small scars due to scratching bugbites and a failed ear-piercing, I have small cross-shaped scar on my left wrist from having a cyst drained. The doctor purposely did the stitches too tight and left them in too long so that scar tissue would form and the cyst wouldn't fill again (it had in the past). It gives me problems sometimes, but at least it hasn't swollen up or made it so I can't lift more than a few pounds without pain. I also have an inch-long scar on my right knee complete with 8 little scars from the stitches from when I had a benign bone tumor removed.

A variety of scars along my knees from an adventurous childhood (and inability to ride a bike properley as a teenager) which has given me a weak right knee. Including a lovely assortment of small ones up my right shin from a particularly brutal gravel skid.
Both elbows from tripping in the playground as a kid.
Three on my right hand: one from an infected splinter, one from a nasty reaction to some of my jewellery, and one I don't even remember happening.

More than I can safely count. My right arm is covered with scar tissue from a car accident at the age of 7 - looks great and I remember a girl picking me up once saying that, "Chicks dig scars." I should take some photos.
Knees are covered in them from various accidents. Knife scan under the right shoulder, slight gunshot wound on the left arm. A few on the head from broken bottles and the like. You name it I've probably got it.
I've had an interesting life up to this point. Now it's quiet and I love it that way.

Most of mine are small ones from mishaps.
I've got under the right side of my jaw from chickenpocks, it looks like a cat's paw print, one large rough circle shape surrounded by three smaller.
When I was a kid I skidded on some gravel and slammed into a wall breaking two teeth in half, blacking one eye and scraping one side of my face. Apart from two crowned teeth, I've got a long faint scar down the right side of my face.
A friend's sword fell off his mantlepiece, and I instinctively grabbed it to stop it falling. Big mistake. I've got a white scar across one finger. Very lucky I didn't lose any digits.
Harrison Ford type scar on my chin. No idea how it got there. Apparently I did it when I was a kid. Don't remember at all.

Hernia surgery when I was 9 months old. Scar grew with me.

Being so pale, any scrape, scratch or burn ends up becoming a scar.
The more sensational ones that I have starting with the mildest are:
from when a scooter skidded out from under me when I was a kid. It scraped/burned the skin completely off of the entire inside of my knee but my 'father' thought I was being dramatic so I never got to the hospital to have it treated. The resulting infection made it so that I wasn't able to get skin graphs.
I don't think I want to play this game anymore.

I counted 14 scars right off the top of my head (but I'm sure I have more than that). Reminders of a life lived a bit recklessly... scars acquired from surgeries, sports injuries, kitten claws, broken heart, failing my saving throw vs. steel fence, playing with my mashed potatoes during Thanksgiving dinner and finding myself at the wrong end of those dangerous, weapony thingies.

Let's see, when I was little, a small patch of blood vessels on my right cheek burst and erupted through the skin. I have what looks like a small freckle patch between my cheek and my eye.
When I was in the hospital (again, when I was little) the nurses didn't notice the I.V in my right calf had slipped out and started forming a bubble beneath the skin. They cut it off and I was left with a mark that was about the size of a dime initially, but grew with me. Now it looks like I was in one hell of a knife fight.
I have a small circular scar on the insides of each ankle from more I.Vs (same hospital stay) with lines through them... very weird.
I have slight oval indents on both temples from the same hospital stay, I'm not sure how I got them. Thankfully they're not really visible unless I cut my hair short.
I have an extra crease in the webbing between pointer finger and thumb having accidentally slashed it open with an X-Acto knife. I was opening the first (and last) Star Wars toy I ever bought, a pair of Jawas.
Aside from those, various cuts on my left hand from the many cats my family has owned and a horizontal cut (faded thankfully) across my right inner wrist from the first cat I owned.

I've got two you can see without buying me dinner first.
Tiny near-unnoticable one on my forehead, where I hit my head on a fireplace as a baby.
One on the end of my left index finger when I found out what a car cigarette lighter is :)

Great thread!
One scar on my 1st joint of my right index finger- goes all the way across the "print"- NO IDEA where it came from.
One under my chin, from playing too tenacious "D" during basketball.
Two on the back of my skull, one from my dad winging a glass at me when I was a kid, and one from being beaten senseless with a baseball bat.
Can't wait to shave my head this summer!:D

I have a 3 inch scar near the corner of my mouth/ upper lip from a dog bite when I was 4, the bite went all the way through to the inside of my mouth.
I have yet to meet the chicks who dig scars.

Only major scar is on my knee. I tripped on the playground in 6th grade the day before the big end of the year rollerskating party. It was tragic. I didn't go to the doctor because I didn't want him to tell me not to go skating. The scar would have been smaller if I'd have gotten stitches. It was like an episode of Full House!
CFT has a big nasty scar on his elbow when he busted it big time at YMCA camp. The story involves all sorts of fun things like nerve damage and surgery, but he can tell you the details if he wants to.

A few tiny white scars on my knuckles from stick and knife training. That's about it.
My sister wins the scar prize. Hers is on her calf - a burn from the exhaust pipe of her motorcycle. When she gets a tan you can see it, in nice, bold letters: 'AHA' (YAMAHA on the side).

More than ten for me, but most of them are small, very faint or in groups.
Well, I've got three underneath my lower lip and on my chin where I fell face first onto a step an basically 'stapled' my lower lip to my chin with my teeth, two on my knuckles (middle finger left hand and ring finger right hand) from where they met red-hot elements in a grill, three from hot oven trays; a very white 2 inch one curving around the side of my right elbow, one on the inside of my left forearm and one across my left shin, one an inch or above my wrist on my right arm where I got stabbed with a pencil, funky purple ones on both my knees, circular one on my left upper arm from my BCG and 10+ on the backs of both my knees from a skin condition that left 'pits'.
I think that's it... ^.~

A couple of tiny, but mentally significant, ones. There's one on my hip from an operation I had when I was really young; it was the first time I'd ever been in a hospital. Another on my hand from when a cat clawed it open as a child; I've hated them ever since.

Yep.
One about an inch on my knee from where I fell and stabbed myself on a metal bar. One right below that where I cut myself with a razor. Since then I don't try to shave when I have the flu.
One on the side of my knee-cap from where I cut myself on metal shrapnel. One on my achilles tendon where I slipped and scraped it right open.
One on my right elbow in a nice V shape where I fell off my bike and cut it open. And one at the bottom of my spine about 2 inches long where I had to have a cyst removed.
