Didnt know it was THAT bad. 100's of murders per year in that city

And it had a female Godfather that made Scarfact look like a Telebtubie, and the chick was release from jails years ago and she was responble for probally most of the drug war murders in the city

This was a great documentary,

Like Rock say's If you ever was a fan of Scarface or the show Miami Vice, this real life story is were both got their ideas from. Hell the hit on Tony in the night club was taken from real events. There are a few different dealers profiled but the star of the movie is The Godmother ( Griselda Blanco ) one of the most ruthless women in the drug trade. Unlike Scarface, who was "Not gone kill no kids," The Godmother had no problem killing innocent children to send a message. The documentary explores how the drugs, money and corruption were the building blocks for the high rolling party town that is now miami. But wait there's more, on the special features there is a interview with a man named Charles Cosby ( No relations to Bill ) who befriended and becames lovers with Griselda after she was locked up in federal prison in Oakland Ca. His dealings with her got just as crazy but he finally got away from her when he turned FBI witness in order to not be an accomplence in the attemped kidnapping of JFK jr. ( Yes that JFK jr. ) The Godmother might have gotten away with it if the Feds were not monitoring her still active dealings and other unsolved murders.

The week this dvd came out it sold out of ever major retail store in San Francisco and Oakland, me and my friends were lucky to get the last three in Berkeley, it that good and worth viewing.
