View Full Version : I think I broke my kids

So my kids from last year, their current teacher is on maternity leave. And they had big city-wide tests last week. Our assistant principal didn't want the new sub in there administering the test alone so he asked me to go in. Before the test I was chatting with them, as they're better conversationalists than most people I know. I mentioned if they tried their best on the test I'd have a surprise for them on Friday. They didn't know it was the second issue of Shazam.
One girl, chubby, black, and full of sassafrass, raises her hand. I call on her.
"I hope it's Weezer t-shirts!" she yelped with joy.
I am so sorry, kids! I broke you.

Stop pushing your pop-culture on those poor impressionable children!
It's cool you're so generous, Joe.

That's awesome, Joe it really is impressive that you inspire these kids to want to learn.

haha, why did she think it might be Weezer t-shirts?
I laughed so hard when I read that, how funny would that have been if she was like, "I hope you got us the second issue of Shazam!: The Monster Society of Evil!"
Then, still wanting the kids to be suprised, Joe DOESN'T reach into the bag on his left full of comics, he instead reaches into the bag on his right full of Weezer T-shirts.....
"Well my eager young student," The teacher responds, "That was certainly a good guess...."

Joe, I have to know: What was the kids' reaction to the whole "Tender, juicy children!" bit?

Laughter, at least the reactions I saw.
