So I went on my bus trip to Foxwoods Casino and Resort in CT lat night. Being a middle class person I'm hardly rich. The bus trip fee is $14 and includes a trip to the buffet ($18) and coupons for two, $10 vouchers for Keno. My brother, brother-in-law, family friend, her dad, and an edlery family friend of her's made up our group among other people.
Some of us loaded up on the chow first or desserts in my case which inluded Black Forrest cake, vanilla pudding, Jell-O, and a lemo maragne (sic) cup.
I always get a little ancy around the table games because it's decision making where at a slot machine it's fairly brain dead button pushing. So I watched my brother play for awhile before heading off with my brother-in-law to try some small stakes Blackjack. I had a small budget of $100 that was originally intended to use towards buying a Nintendo Wii some time in the future. I had a meager $60 to blow on table games and the smallest minimum bid was $10. So my system was I only had $60 to play, win or lose. All my winnings would go into my pocket. Wellll, Mr. Bond here played fairly well despite taking a 'hit' on a 15. The next card turned out to be a 6 for '21'. Sweet! But all good things come to an end such as taking a hit later on a 14 and getting '22'. So walked away to the cashier with a tumor in my pocket and was surprised to learn I had won $112! Not bad for a small stakes player like me.
Despite some winnings on Keno, I finished $11.50 in the hole there but at least won on every ticket I played. The two freebie tickets won a total of $15 so my bus trip was paid for.
I lost $10 in a slot machine. They are vaguely fun but have the worst odds of winning.
The family friend had me sit in her spot and use her chips the last few minutes before the bus left. She was playing Caribbean Stud Poker, $10 minimum ante and double to bet if you wanted to play your cards. I lost only one hand out of about 7. The family friend refused to take anything more than the $15 she had left on the table for me so in about 15 minutes I cashed in the chips. It was nice to see a second $100 bill being slid towards me. Ahhh, yes,...life IS good.
And so it goes in the life of a middle class, small stakes gambler. LOL!
I'd be lying if I didn't say I was scoping the female scene. While most of the people were dressed casually as if going to the mall, it was fun checking out the various women of all ages dressed up. One young lady was a particular head turner (not just mine!) in a sweater dress and stiletto heeled boots. Being the pig that I am I will probably be inspired to have one of my super heroines dressed the same way in a scene. There might be a couple of new villains in my stories inspired by some what inappropriately dressed older women that time has not been kind to. Inspiration comes in some many forms. LOL! And there was a businessy looking middle aged couple that could make for some good characters with the right story - casino thieves maybe?
So that was my Friday night. Not bad,... I'll take it.
