So, for Captain America week I thought we could all share our favourite Captain America Cover, and why we love it so much.

For me it is a no brainer

Captain America 109.
First reason I love it: Jack Kirby at his best. He really does jump off the page.
Second reason I love it: I love the idea of Cap "Jumping straight out of the headlines" as it were. It quietly says a lot about the character, and how real the Marvel U was at the time.

So which is your favourite Cap cover and why?

I just love the resolve on Steve Roger's face. The idea of Cap quitting was just shocking at the time, despite everything he'd gone through. This cover captures it perfectly.

I'm kind of biased, since the Baron Blood story is my alltime favourite Cap story, but I just love this moody cover by Byrne.

Okay, so Cap's barely in the cover, but I love Deathlok, and I love Zeck's run on Cap. A great cover with excellent design sense.

Another great Zeck cover. When I saw this one, the image of cap blazing away with a machine gun shocked me. I just had to buy the issue.

The casualties of War cover with Cap standing is my favorite. I know it's not the best and it's not even his book, but that art is amazing to me.

Captain America himself isn't the main element of the cover, but this is one of my favorite covers of all time. Jim Steranko really knew how to draw an imposing looking Hulk.

Great covers--I especially ike Thorlief's choice of #115--very vivid cover!

Duh. I like this cover because of its shock value considering firing a gun isn't usually Cap's style nor does that mean, angry expression suit his personnage. Best of all, t doesn't mislead us to the story inside.

I love it because it looks great, and I love that character.

I refuse to believe that Dave Hoover is anyone's favorite. Or Free Spirit, for that matter.

hi guys this is my first post so go easy on me, I'm decorating my room with Cap stuff, bust and statues and so on.. and was need your guys option on what covers to use in my displays? Ive got a avengers 4 and was thinking about avengers 16 and Cap 100, 109, 111. just wondered if you guys had any other cool covers you've seen or have.

Welcome to the boards. It's always good to see another Cap fan.

AS for covers, it depends on what you're after. From the covers you're looking at, it seems that you're after iconic images of Cap. If so, Cap 275 might be what you're looking for:

If you're after something a bit different, I'd recommend Cap 113, 115 and 321. These are just beautifully composed and powerful covers:

You gotta have Cap Wolf on there :D

One of my favourite restaurants in Cork is Captain America's. They do a mean burger and the Captains Brownie (no jokes please) is to die for. My point is, they've got the walls covered in Captain America covers and right on the way to the bathroom they've got a few Cap Wolf covers. It's so funny seeing them put side by side with the regular covers.

I can't scan them, but I gotta admit I like Tales of Suspense #60 (very ironic these days...) and the Steranko covers were very good, but one of my favories is "What lives within the Crypt" from about Capt #234 done by byrne, but the classic Avengers #20 and #114 or 115 were great also.
Probably my favorite is the iconic Red Skull on Tales of Suspsense #80, which someone eles mentioned also...
