No thread so far?

Well i simply do one okay.

I try a summary: I short most dialoges so i won't take all the fun away reading the book.

-Starts with a flashback to the scene in which one of the Uncle Bens the Hobgoblin from the year 2211 has brought into the 616 universe kills the Spiderman of the year 2211. However in this version we see that a goth guy who hung around the area saw it.
- Goth guy takes of Spidermans 2211 helmet and the body dissapears leaving only a burned figure of himself in the grass.
- Goth becomes crazy and a man drives him away with a shovel.

Back to present.
-Jamie Madrox faking to be a SHIELD agent and someone he intruces as Agent Sands meet up with a police chef and ask him about the other uncle Ben who has recently died.
*Guess what another crossover joke from Peter David. Nothing against that if you ask me.*
-Police chef reveals that Sandmans dad said the other uncle Ben was already shot when he found him and the only proof that Sandmans father was related to it was that two policemen found him rolling Bens body around.
- Agents Sands get angry and ask if they found the gun but Jamie calms him down.
- Police chef reveals that they forced the confession out of Sandmans dad and Agents Sands turns out to be Sandman *As if we wouldn't have know it*

-Madrox tries to stop Sandman from killing the police dude but then the image inducer lose juice and reveals that its really Spiderman. *Again as if we wouldn't have known it*

-After some talk Spiderman and Sandman escape without any killed policemen.

- Switch to Flash having a dinner with Betty. They talk about old times and Betty ask him about Miss Arrow and how she creeps her out.
-Flash says that he only dated her a few times and she was not intrested in him. *Oh RLY?*
After that Betty has to leave for the Beathroom.

-Switch back to Sandman and Spiderman. Peter tells Sandman to follow his rules if he wants to save his dad.

- Switch again to Betty in the Bathroom, while in one cabin, she is attacked by thousand of little black spiders. *Lucky for Betty someone didn't tried the trick from "Species" on her.
-Betty runs out, Flash and the Manager ask what is wrong, followed by one of the most funny scenes in this issue *CHECK!*
-Together they check the Bathroom but now there ain't anything there except for Bettys stocking, shoes and a bit of cocaine on a plate!
-The manager politly ask Betty to get away from his restaurant. Meanwhile a dark skinned woman with blond hair and a nametag with "Arrow" on it, watchs through a door while smiling.
*This either means The Other as Arrow can still turn into hundred of Spiders or She can command those little creeps.
Anyway this seems to be the "EEEEEK" moment PAD talked about some month ago.*

-Switch back to Sandman and Spiderman now at Bens grave checking if someone opened the grave.
-Then Spidermans senses are tickling.
-They find the Goth guys van together with the Goth wearing Spiderman 2211 helmet.
- They findout who killed SM2211 and Spiderman puts on SM2211 helmet which seems to only work for him *Could that mean Spiderman 2211 was genetical related to Peter?*

-End of Issue.

Okay i liked this issue.
The Eek moment PAD promised was really nice and now with Betty on Arrows hitlist, you feel a creepy feeling everytime you see Betty going anywhere alone.

Spiderman and Sandman work well as uneasy allies.

And PAD seems to be one of those writers who don't want to keep storylines unresolved including the Uncle Bens and what happend to Spiderman 2211 body.

Like i said before Robin might be retconned out by her own Bomb but she still makes trouble for our Peter Parker.

Nah..it's the spider-dna that matched...it keyed off Archno-human hybrid.

Another excellent issue. Peter David weren’t kidding when he told us Ms. Arrow would do something we wouldn't expect. I'm really liking this uneasy and complicated new relationship between Spidey and Sandman.

I know I keep saying this, but why does "Sensational" keep selling better than this? "Friendly Neighbourhood" has a very old school feel. Bringing back old villains and giving them fresh takes on them. We've had Mysterio, Vulture and Sandman. Mr. David if you're reading this is there any chance you can do a Doc Ock story next? I want the classic villains to keep on coming.

Biggest turn off for me is the alternate future dimension story. Sensational I think has better stories plus it utilizes characters like Black Cat and Puma as the supporting cast. Peter David is good I'm just not liking what Ive read of his current run here.

I really enjoy FNSM but i do feel that Sensational was better. Now it's close. However, i really don't think FNSM has a old school feel. Maybe sorta but it doesn't reach it. I really am not a fan of the art, and I don't think it goes with PAD's style. Then at times PAD's conversations have that "old school feeling" but then he does something contemporary and it's corny.

I am really enjoying this book though. I think PAD is doing an outstanding job, and I feel for the first time in years SM can carry three titles and do a decent job with them.

The book's new artist, Todd Nuack, is perhaps best known for his run on Young Justice. Now if only I could remember who wrote that....:p

Biggest turn off for me is the alternate future dimension story.

Anyone else find the irony that someone using the screen name "Drwho" isn't likeing the alternate future story?:p

Hey PAD! 18 was a great issue!

A few quick yet vague questions;

1.) Are the Uncle Ben and miss Arrow subplots related? I don't expect you to give any details, even a yes, no or not really would suffice, lol!

2.) How many parts is the current arc?

3.) Is Scott Eaton penciling the next arc?

4.) Can you talk about any upcoming FNSM plans post back in Black, or is it too early????

Thanks!

Way too early.

Thanks!

1) They intersect, but they're not related.

2) The Sandman arc? Three.

3) No.

4) Way too early.

>GASP<. This has broken the FNS pattern. The FNS pattern for 3 issue arcs has been this:

-Great First Issue
-Good Second Issue
-Okay Third issue

However this time, we have had a great first issue... AND a great second issue. Landmark! Loving the Miss Arrow subplot, of course. The big strength of FNS is that it has by far the strongest supporting cast of any spider-book. The second big strength is that it remembers to bring the funny. This issue had more humour in it than the entire Sensational run since it became "Sensational". I know ASM can't and it's a little out for a "Back in Black" Spidey but even so, how can anyone NOT love lines like when Spidey answers our long-held question with "Because it doesn't look COOL when I stand on the ground!" and the brilliant "Hey, we're the jehovah's Witnesses and we're here to talk to you about..."

Mini-crossover with X-Factor again which is funny as long as it isn't overdone. Just a great issue, kept the strengths of the first one- the typical thing I do with an FNS "second issue of the arc" is say "Huh. Is that it?" When I finish. Not because it's bad, but becuase much less happens than in issue 1. This did not have that problem.

I too have a question for Mister David!

....Can we PLEASE, PLEASE see THe Guy Who Is Definitely Not Colbert again!? C'mon, after his renewed marvel connection with getting Cap's shield, you GOTTA! ...I'll persuade my friends to subscribe! ;)

And I second whoever said Sensational should not be outselling it; Sensational is not bad but every month it stews in the same mediocrety/averageness level that means I simply don't care about anyone in it.

Spiderman and Sandman work well as uneasy allies.

I concur, heartily! I was loving these two working together in this issue. There was some really great interplay between the two characters and the dialogue was excellent. I especially liked that whole scene starting with Sandman asking Spidey "Why're you always crouching on stuff? How come you don't just stand up straight?" and ending with the pair of them going off to check Uncle Ben's grave. Excellent stuff!

I'm also (like a lot of others) enjoying the whole Ms. Arrow/The Other sub-plot and the scene with Betty in the restaurant was great from start to finish. It was particularly nice to see her and Flash catching some quality time together. There's definitely some sexual chemistry between them. I for one would like to see them both getting back together again...I think they make a good couple, what can I say? :o

Anyway, another great issue of FNSM by PAD and the gang. It's been a real pleasure seeing this title going from strength to strength since it began.

I'm not too hot on this series for some reason, but I think the writing is really consistent. Every storyline flows into the next and although the plots get resolved you do get the feeling that this is a cohesive cast that continually interacts with one another. It's the only Spidey book besides Spider-Girl that got me interested enough to buy it, and I actually liked the Hobgoblin arc.
