Seeing as some of my favourite writers and artists have worked on this series before (Ie: Millar, Morrison, Hitch, Quietly), I wondered where to start if I wanted to get into "The Authority". A good starting point TPB.
Thanks in advance for your help. :o

I would start with the "Relentless" trade as that is the first Authority stories. Then comes "Under New Management", "Earth Inferno", and then "Transfer of Power". I have skipped the stories written by Robbie Morrison as everyone I have talked to said they were total crap. I did enjoy Bru's "Revolution" vols. 1and 2.
Someone please correct me if I am wrong with the chronology of the trades.

Shut up. I have an entire run of Stormwatch Vol. 1 I wouldn't mind getting rid of.
C'mon it's got the first appearance of Backlash. Who doesn't think Backlash is awesome? Anyone... please?

I would say you could start with "Relentless" and, if you really like Ellis' story[and how could you not], then you should go back and get the SW trades beginning with "Force of Nature."

thanks guys.
I did oick up relentless last night and I loved it. It's like a super-kinetic-crystal meth-driven Avengers/JLA. Neat charcters, great writing and gorgeous art. Im off to pick up the second trade.
BTW, what is the status of Authority comics today?

There's a run in the process by Grant Morrison and Gene Ha but it's been stricken with lateness. Issue #2 came out this past Wednesday and it was really good. They have yet to solicit #3 and Gene Ha said that the book is going on a hiatus while he does an issue of JLA( ). Both the writer and the artist are taking their time it seems...I guess they're hoping that the "Planetary method" will work for this book as well. Meaning the book is solicited when an issue is finished...they're probably going to do that with Wildcats as well.
