Any thoughts on my drawsing. Are they, good, bad, boring. Anything that needs improving? Comments please, I want to know what you all think.

hey chuck...your stuff looks pretty good...and it's a fine start if you're thinking about drawing comics...my suggestion to you is to get the figures doing something...i liked the aquaman the most because i got the sense he was doing something...speaking from experience, you can get caught up in the comfort of doing the "standard pose" type of drawings...get the characters doing something, maybe try different angles, or give them some kind of context, things of that nature...the main thing is, you want to be able to tell a story...i hope that helps.

That was my first response, too.
The Aquaman pic was the one that first drew me because the others are rather static.
That said, some great linework. I'm spotting a definite Perez influence (not a bad thing at all).

I totally agree with above 2 posts. Aquaman stood out because he has purpose, he is in the motion of swimming. He also has nicely detailed vest.
You are very good, just loosen up now and think of the medium. Think page panels, and you'll become a comic artist professional.;)

I like aspects of this one, but his right arm is a little wonky. From his shoulder to his elbow, the bones should form a fairly straight line, not a curved one.

In other words, I think you need to concentrate more on the underlying structure of your figures.

Thanks alot. I admit I do draw a lot of static poses in my sketch book. Thanks for the comments on Wolverine, Howyadoin. I'll certainly take this into concideration when I get to my drawing board tonight!!

It's one of those things that a lot of artists either ignore or try to fake, so the fact that you're willing to take it into consideration says a lot.

that's the first thing i thought too...and line work is freakin' hard to do...and it isn't something everyone can do either...so that in and of itself it a very good thing...:)

Thanks Aggie. I love that quote from Batman "Hush." That was my favorite issue in the arc. That one and then the I think the two after where Bruce goes back to Gottham and the Joker "kills" Tommy and then it took everything for Batman not to kill the Joker!

you're welcome chuck...:)
and thanks...i was just looking for a good batman quote and found that one...it's been a while since i've read HUSH...so i can't remember one issue from another, but to me it's the most revealing comment about bats...it was a pretty good arc, but i was left cold by the ending...having said that...are you working on anything new??

Hey Chuck. Just stumbled upon this thread, and I gotta say that your art is really cool. It's obvious that you can go those extra miles to draw the little details.
I concur with the rest of the guys. The Aquaman one is my fave so far. It's very dynamic and you get the feel of movement. I'll be looking forward to any updates you want to make.
