I read the first two issues of Diggle\Portacio's run and thought it was pretty dire.
Like ASBAR without the humour.

I read the first issue. It didn't strike me as being particularly good nor particularly bad. I decided it wasn't worth my time to pursue a fourth Batman title if it wasn't going to knock my socks off.
i guess i'll have to add to the negative responces. i bought the first 2 issues and they weren't terrible by any means but money is tight and nothing really made me want to see where it was going.
i do like the superman confidential though.

Ditto. I bought #3, but it's been half a week and I haven't found myself interested enough to crack it open yet. I really can't stand the art, for one thing, and the story doesn't have that much of a hook either.

I pull it and I enjoy the art/writing. Count me in the internet minority that likes it! :p

I like the story and the concept, the art... not so much.

I dont particuarly care for it. I actually would rather prefer Legends of the Dark Knight or Detective Comics.

I dropped it after the first two issues--medicore art and unispired storytelling. I'm sticking with Batman and Detective: two monthly Batman-related books is enough for me.

I recently added this series to my subscriptions but this thread made me download the first three issues to see for myself and it's very bleh. I'll ask customer service to change that subscription to some other series(probably JLA or Gen13).

I guess i'm in the minority but I love the whole dance between Bruce and Lex. No complaints here.

I like the whole tech side of Batman. This was an interesting story about it. Plus it takes place early in his career. We get to see him face off against Lex Luthor for the first time. I thought it was pretty neat.

I like the look of the Bat Jet in this story. Not as 1988 in design but still looks Bat-like.

Of course this depends on your own personal taste, what rendition of Batman you like and what sorts of Batman stories you like to read.
Personally I love it very much, mostly because it covers both Bruce Wayne and Batman. Instead of having Batman in costume 24/7. The story takes place during Bruce's younger years. And he's heavily involved in his famalies company, going to toe toe on bids with Luthor. I really enjoy it alot because I enjoy reading stories about Bruce Wayne and Batman and show him a well rounded invidual.
I read the first two issues of Diggle\Portacio's run and thought it was pretty dire.

What???
I can understand you not liking it. But I don't understand the co-relation to ASBAR. The stories are polar opposites. ASBR is just dumb and insipid. About a nut in driving around terrorizing a young child
Batman Confidential is a well thought out and structured story. Is sort of like an extension of Batman Begins or The first 2 seasons of The Batman.
Just don't get the co-relation
