Wow, what a great time to be getting back into this. All of this stuff came out when I collected as a kid!

I recon that it will have the Reign of the Supermen and his return all factored into this movie.
First act - Doomsday appears and fights Supes, climaxing in death.
Second act - Funeral and appearence of imposter Supermen
Third act - Cyborg Superman's betrayal, Coast City, and final battle with Superman returning to beat Hank Henshaw.

No love for Lex Luthor II or the Protoplasmic Supergirl, which brings my anticipation levels for this down... several notches.

Personally, when I first heard about this I was looking forward to seeing Supergirl get one-punched into protoplasmic goo! That was one of my favorite scenes in the entire storyline.

Wow, I knew a straight-to-dvd Superman story was coming out that featured Doomsday but didn't know it was going to be based on the Death of Superman. Cor.

I certainly hope that is how the movie is laid out. My biggest worry is the ability to fit all of that story into one movie. I have a feeling that the part they would likely have to skimp on if time runs short is focussing on the replacement Supermen, which would honestly be the part I was most interested in. I would really like to see as many characters fit into the story as possible, plus a team-up of Superman, Superboy, Steel, and the Eradicator against Hank (and possibly Mongel) would be very sweet to watch.

I remember reading that as well. I wonder though, did they mean that they are completely leaving out a Lex and a Supergirl? Or that they will just use less complicated versions? For example, an older bald Lex and a non-gooey Supergirl.

Yeah I started to think about this too, I hope they lay it out right and able to fit everything in without shortening something.

Those storylines have been dropped in order to make the whole saga short enough for a 72-minute movie. Also, some stuff has been modified from the original stories, to achieve that same goal.

I haven't heard about Supergirl, but Lex Luthor will be there. The bald one.
