I was asking on the civil war board whether civil war`s aftermath would cause a superhero arms race across the world.

If it did...

1) Are there any countries any of you would love to see a super-team from?

2) What interesting non-american superheroes are there (that means ones who live outside the u.s as well, colossus and nightcralwer thereby do not fall under this category) and what nations did they come from?

(yes i know i worded the poll question wrong but we all make mistakes don`t we.)

right so lets see what established characters could be on a french super-team to start with.....

M -if she left x-factor. she`s not likely then but a possibility.
Cyclone (3)- Was a thunderbolt so could be coerced into joining a super hero team.
Tarot-depowered but could still be on a team. And the french could simply experiment on her until she had powers again.
Le Peregrine-
Penance -
Gargoille - Villain but she could reform i guess.

German team....

Maverick - Team leader. He`d rock as a team leader.
Courier (Jacob Gavin Jr.) - Gambits old buddy.
Nightcrawler - Nah they`d never get him.
A load of german heroes that haven`t appeared before.

British team...Or excalibur with a couple more non-mutants.lol

Captain Britain -
Pete Wisdom -
Chamber -
Feron -
Motormouth - (Marvel UK) Well the marvel-uk ones were still cool and could be cool to use.
Micromax -
Union Jack -
Killpower - (Marvel UK) Well the marvel-uk ones were still cool and could be cool to use.
Kylun -
Plasmus - (Marvel UK) Well the marvel-uk ones were still cool and could be cool to use.

I think those teams would be pretty good. Especially the german one with maverick in charge, he needs more comic space he is often neglected too much.

It depends if the writers do their home work, if so, yes.

I think a group that protected all of Europe and was made up of members from various countries there would be pretty cool.

As seen in recent issues of the Fantastic Four, France already has Les Heroes de Paris.

Also, presumably some variation of both the Winter Guard (Russia) and Big Hero 6 (Japan) are still active.

Silverclaw -

And some others...

Russian....

Black Widow -
Crimson Dynamo -
Perun -
Red Guardian -
Ursa Major -
Fantasia -

And some others...

I just looked them up on the marvel wikia. They look cool. I hope marvel doesn`t allow them to just fade away into obscurity.

If the SHRA thing does start a rampant super-hero arms race i would love to see Les Heroes de Paris being the leaders of all the new european super-heroes who are being trained up.

I know but all i`m saying is that if each american state has a seven man super-team surely countries like france and japan and russia would try to at the very, very least double or even triple their existing amount of super-heroes to keep up with the effect of the SHRA`s new laws.

As a Canadian, I would love to see more international heroes. Here's some ideas for teams:

Africa (not a country, but there are so few African heroes that they would have to combine)

Black Panther
Storm
Askari
Kidogo
Lightbright
Pirouette
Shola
Splice

China
Shang Chi
Collective Man
Jade Dragon
Radioactive Man
Harvest
Nuwa

South America (see Africa)
Sunspot
Silverclaw
Poison
La Bandera
Rictor
Wind Dancer
Helix

India
Black Box
Thunderbird
Karima
Timeslip
Calculus
Monsoon
Indra

Middle East
Sabra (as a rep from Israel)
Arabian Knight
Dust
Batal
Asp
Kaminedi
Bright Sword (another rep from Israel)

I really think they should show books that come from different perspectives and regions worldwide. its kinda funny that in comics in a workd with 6 billion or so people runnin around there are only ever crises in the US and they never seem to happen elsewhere... showing things that happen outside the US would also give writers a chance to expose readers to new cultures and EDUCATE people and help breakdown stereotypes they seem to be so prelevent in north american culture regarding the rest of the world.

I love the fact that they are bringing back Omega/Alpha flight but it PISSES me off as a canadian that they have US agent as part of the team cause there are ALOT of canadian superheroes out there that could easily star in the book(cause really whats good is a c-list captain america rip off character in a book that takes place north of the US border)

Yes, but specifically less that are based on what country they come from. It's like every European hero is based on their country :)

I always liked the russian heroes like soviet super soldiers or people's protectorate or winter guard.

I loved Perun & Vostok. They really should make more use of them.

Crimson Dynamo
Darkstar
Fantasma
Red Guardian/Steel Guardian
Sibercat
Ursa Major
Vanguard
Power Surge

I second that. Besides the fact the Russian guys got such cool names (at least imo) they really look like true superheroes

China has China Force, 3Peace and the Eight Immortals. No teams from India as far as i know. Also Ireland's Kinsmen could make a return.

Not the same but in a similar vein, an all Indian/Native American team.

I think most of these guys are alive, some are mutants so they may be depowered.

American Eagle III (Navajo)
Black Crow (Navajo)
Danielle Moonstar (Cheyenne, member of New Mutants, X-Force & X-Men)
Echo (a.k.a. Crazy Horse, Ronin)
Fire Eyes (Amerind, ally of Daimon Hellstrom Son of Satan)
Forge (Cheyenne, member of X-Men & X-Factor)
HighNote of the Young Gods (Part Colombian, part Indian)
Moonstalker (Inuit, member of Young Gods)
Puma former enemy turned ally of Spider-man (from an unnamed Arizona tribe)
Red Wolf (william Talltrees) (Cheyenne, Rangers)
Redstone (Apache, member of Squadron Supreme, Earth S)
Shaman (Sarcee, member of Alpha Flight))
Silver Fox (Native Canadian, ally of Wolverine)
Snowbird (half Sarcee, member of Alpha Flight))
Talisman (Sarcee, member of Alpha Flight))
Thunderbird (Apache, member of X-Men))
Tom Corsi (Cheyenne, ally of the X-men)
Tomorrow Hawk (a.k.a. Ceyote. of New Breed and Eternals)
Warpath (Apache, member of New Mutants, X-Force, X-Corporation & X-Men))
Werehawk (Futurians) [1]
Wyatt Wingfoot (Keewazi, associate of Fantastic Four)
Zachery Moonhunter (of the Avengers)

There is a group made up a members from various countries that protect Europe they are called the Super Heroes of Europe or S.H.E. for short they first appeared in the first Sentry limited series and more recently in Civil War Frontline

It always kind of annoyed me that they were called "SHE" though - as if to pass of Europe as something more effeminate or less manly...:D

I'd really like them to actually use Excalibur as the team it always should have been. New Excalibur's creation wrote in that due to M-Day the vast majority of Britain's superheroes were gone.

Frankly though, that's crap. Certainly with Marvel Uk as an imprint there were dozens of heroes created and published monthly - and I'm damned if i can remember ANY of them being mutants.

I'd like a book which used Excalibur mainstays like Captain Britain and Pete Wisdom, but brought any of the following:

Kylun
Micromax
Union Jack
Spitfire
Killpower
Death's Head II
Motormouth
Killpower
Col Tigon Liger
Hell's angel
Mortigan Goth
Elsa Bloodstone

For starters. So many of these characters are screaming for a makeover and a return. And only two of those are mutants.

If Excalibur finally stopped sitting on the fence, and joined the Marvel Universe proper, it could even become more like a European Avengers if it spread its wings a little bit.

I personally want to see more of Big Hero 6. I thought they were a fun concept that isn't used nearly enough, kind of like Alpha Flight was at first.

As long if its not just for the sake of just making it foreign. It would be cool to see an ongoing series on a hero that lives in a different environment. Personally I wasn't much of an Alpha Flight fan with the exception of Puck (who doesn't like midget superheroes?).
