I am very pleased to announce that Ray Rivard, with 10 votes, has been elected Citizen of the Month for February 2007!
This is the second time Ray has been COTM; the previous time was in September 2003, back when he was going by the euphonious name of ArchivalGrading.
It was a close election; Tages actually led at one point, 7 votes to 6, but fell short by two votes. Other candidates included:
Royal - 5 votes (or 6 if Nikita's ambiguous post is counted as a vote)
Ed Cunard - 2 votes
StoneGold, Michael Pullman, Quiggy, Joe Rice, tricksterpup, Valmore, Iangould, Typo Lad, Spackling Compound, XPac - 1 vote each
Congratulations to Ray, a good friend and a worthy COTM.
See you in about four weeks for the third COTM election of 2007!

Awesome, Ray! Well-deserved! One of the kindest, most knowledgable, and most welcoming posters in my early days here.
Congrats to Tages and all others who came close as well (I almost voted for you Tages, which would have made a tie- sorry, but I was feeling Ray at the moment (yes, in that way))

Congratulations to Ray Rivard. I can't think of anyone more deserving.
And this is the closest I've ever gotten. Progress?

If you want to make it one day, the trick is to not repeat yourself like that

Congrats, Ray! 'Bout time.
And this is the closest I've ever gotten. Progress?
I'll have you know I was decidedly torn in the voting this month, between you and Ray. It was so close I had to flip a coin.
Granted, I had to flip it 17 times for it to come out in favor of Ray, but still...

Congrats, Ray! You deserve it. I was a bit worried that your approval rating would go down when you nominated me!

I just want to say that by according me this honor, that all of you have now made yourself character witnesses in my final divorce trial. The subpoena will be arriving to each and every one of you soon, but in any case leave the first week of June open. We'll be calling you alphabetically by login name.
Anyway, thanks. I feel bad denying Tages his first, although I guess since I last won COTM in 2003, prior to Zero Hour, that technically this is my first. Yeah, that's the ticket. Aaaaah, guilt subsiding. Tages, you'll get one soon enough.
Thanks to Spack for nominating me. I had to publically insult him and then rightfully apologize in PM, so for future COTM nominees, you might want to consider this as brilliant campaign strategy.

How exactly do you plan on getting personal jurisdiction over us to enforce the alleged subpoenas?
I'm prepared to cite International Shoe.
Don't test me.

I was thinking a big dirty van and some free comics as bait. For Cunard, something self-published and a blow-up doll.

No way. As I scientifically proved yesterday, Cunard totally loves Infinite Crisis and shit.

Two birds with one stone then: a blow-up doll with Dan Didio's face on it.

As usual I was too lazy to vote.
Future candidates might want to consider....inducements...to get my vote.
Seriously, congrats Ray.

Whenever anyone votes for me for CotM all I can do is cycle through my memory all the times I was a jerk to that person. Then I feel bad.
