Hey everyone Im looking to switch up my pull list a bit and I wanted some recommendations. I really only want 10 titles at most and really want to read the best stuff out there instead of just following stuff I was used to reading.

So far I want to keep AS Superman, GL, Usagi Yojimbo and Runaways. Anyone got any recommendations for some good stuff?? I know Ill get alot of mixed but I can pick out the stuff which gets mentioned the most. Thanks.

Hmmm......

Shazam: The Monster Society of Evil is good, although a limited series.

I like the following monthlies more than most:

Ultimate Fantastic Four
Captain America
Jonah Hex
Ex Machina
Batman (with Morrison at the helm)
Detective (with Dini at the helm)
The Spirit
Invincible
Exiles
Y-The Last Man
Walking Dead

Walking Dead

Does that read good as a monthly??

Probably better collected as a trade, but lately Kirkman has been amping up the action and reaching kind of a crescendo with the whole prison story. I don't think I could wait for a trade right now, but if you haven't really been following it, I could see holding out for the next book.

I'm with Ray on the bolded ones and with you on AS Superman and Runaways.

Shazam:The Monster Society of Evil #1 was great so I'll third that suggestion.

Runaways will probably still be entertaining when Whedon jumps on.

I'm really enjoying Mike Carey's X-Men.It's headed towards a crossover with the other X-Books but right now it's pure gold.

Ed Brubaker's still kicking ass on Captain America and Daredevil and Immortal Iron Fist seems good from the one issue I've read.

Dr.Strange:The Oath by BKV is very,very good.Pick it up if you're a Dr.Strange fan,pick it up if you're not.It shall convert you :)

JSA is actually pretty good, and the 5 part Sandman Mystery theatre is strangley compelling, though may be worth waiting for the trade.

She-Hulk is fun.

Fantastic Four is looking good too now that McDuffie is onboard.

I got the first issue and found it virtually unreadable. Very disappointing.

YMMV, of course.

SHAZAM!, CAPTAIN AMERICA, DAREDEVIL, JONAH HEX, THE SPIRIT, EX MACHINA, DR. STRANGE: THE OATH (final issue came out this week) are all good, solid books. DETECTIVE is fairly solid, though the art is fairly pedestrian. IRON FIST isn't great, but it isn't bad, either.

Daredevil
Captain America
World War Hulk-will be starting soon
Green Lantern
Uncanny X-Men
Astonishing X-Men

just to name a few.

Daredevil
Y: The Last Man
DMZ

are usually the ones I read first, along with Runaways.

Runaways will probably still be entertaining when Whedon jumps on.

I'm hoping so. I'm reading Astonishing as a monthly and issue after issue I keep having to ask myself, "what the fuck is going on?"

He still says he expects to run it for years. Including in the letter's column of this week's issue.

My impression from multiple letter columns is lots of planned arcs but no planned end. I think he expects to get cancelled just due to the vagaries of the business before he actually runs out of ideas.

Hellblazer. Andy Diggle comes on the book with issue #230 coming out later this month. Should be good.
