I did! Actually, it wasn't that bad!

I don't think I'd call it fine cinema, but all of the extra time and money spent on the FX paid off. It had a handful of laugh out loud scenes and some pretty darn cool action. And Eva Mendez was spectacular. :D

So... who's going and who else has already been? What did ya think?

Yes, the special effects were cool and Sam Elliot stole the movie while everyone was looking but in the end I just couldn't get past all the plot holes! There were enough plot holes to sink the Titantic!

As for Menedez... She never really brought the character above the level of "eye candy". Plus, from the moment she appeared on the screen I was just like "oh God, she's got Damsel-in-Distress (DiD)written ALL over her." I literally spent the whole movie waiting for the obligatory 'Bad guy figures out she's good guy's girlfriend and kidnaps her to force the good guy to do his bidding'. I am SICK TO DEATH of the DiD in movies! I gave major major props to the Fantastic Four movie for chucking the DiD tradition out the window and made Reed be the one captured by the villain and Sue running to the rescue!

Plus, Nicolas Cage was doing Johnny Blaze as Evel Knievel by way of Elvis. I could get behind the Knievel stuff but all the Elvis-like posturing, pointing, and posing got annoying quick.

No, GR wasn't a BAD movie -- it wasn't Catwoman but it still fell below Fantastic Four.

I plan on seeing it. I'm just not sure when I'll get the chance. Most of my friends don't have interest in comic-related movies, so this is something that I'll have to catch while I'm on a business trip over the next couple of weeks.

Haven't seen it yet, but planing on it. Not sure how much I'm looking forward to it, since most of the reviews have been either "It sucks" or "Not awful" which does not inspire me with hope. The effects look decent though, which pretty much all I'm hoping to get out of it. Decent effects and some decent fights. Anything above that is icing on the cake.

2 weekends in a row as #1 movie!

I thought it was actually pretty good. Nic Cage made the character likeable and bad-ass as necesary. Love anything Sam Elliot plays and his role was great just wish there was more with him in it.

Eva Mendes is the hottest I have ever seen her in this role! I saw an interview with her which said she quit working out as hard as normal to be a bit more volumptous, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

My only regret was Donal Logue's character. Man, they could have done so freakin' more with him.

Are they talking sequel yet for it?

*BUMP*

OK - so I never saw it in the theaters. Borrowed the Extended Cut from Netflix (or is that The Netflix?) and ugh, 41 minutes in and I'm really, really bored! If not for Eva Mendes, I'd have probably turned this junk off by now.
