I haven't been in a comics store in a while, but I did get my comp copies of THE PHANTOM ANNUAL. Did anyone out there pick this up?

It was fun to work on, but I'd love to hear what some of you thought of this book.

Sorry Tony, but there aren't many comics outside of the Big 2 that make it into my weekly buys. Had I known prior to it being released that you had some work in it I might have considered buying it.

damn you DC, then again, im proud to pay for quality.

52 has been great. lets hope countdown can match it or transend the greatness of 52.

I read it yesterday, Tony. The overall story seemed a little predictable, though I certainly enjoyed the twists within.

What I really liked about your story was that The Phantom had personality. The one you wrote had a backstory (which you described as good a job you could given the space) and emotions.

Yeah, the story actually started out even more dark and pushed further, but they didn't want to portray a "dark" Phantom very much and I had to ease up a bit. Too bad.

Still, it was fun to touch on the character. I'd love to have a crack at the Phantom or Doc Savage some time. Conan would be my ultimate pulp hero, though. God, did I ever have a Conan phase when I was younger. They used to call me Tonan!

You're the annual? I didn't realize that!

I have copies, but I didn't know it was you. I'll read it. I'll push it.

I picked it up.

It was a good read, even though the individual "chapters" felt a bit too short.
