I was interested in getting one of Scott Mcloud's books, but I'm not sure which of these two to get. I want something that helps me understand the basic fundamentals of how to put a comic book together, as I'm getting into making comics again. I'm not getting hung up on getting into the industry (although that would be cool some day). I'm being more realistic (and maybe a bit pessemistic) and doing this for myself, and so I can share it with others.
Any advice on which of these books is best?
Also, I'd like to find some good books on penciling, inking, coloring, etc... What are some of the best books out there? "The Complete Art of Comic Book Inking" and an inking book by Klaus Janson have already been mentioned in the "Need Inking Advice" thread, but I wouldn't mind more:)
