Got an art website you want to hype?
Post a link in this thread, or even attach a few of your pieces.

Here, I'll go first.

My website is thirteenthstory.com (http://www.thirteenthstory.com).

My two most recent drawings:

Since we're starting fresh, I'll get one in immediately.

A while ago, a bunch of us small press creators were discussing old and lame characters we had created when were first starting out. I brought up one of mine, a bounty hunter called Generic, Hero for Hire for Less. His only real ability was to underbid everyone else.

Truthfully, he was one of my favorite lame characters, and I always intedned to bring him back to my current work. So I did.

And now I present, Generik, Hero for Hire for Less.

The individual portfolio threads are great!!

This one is good for drive-bys (the folks who want to hype their site, but don't really want to participate in the community here), and people who might be shy with their work, or experimenting with new stuff that doesn't belong anywhere else, or whatever.

Its all good.

I don't usually get many chances to do any recreational drawing these days, but recently Vesper asked if she could use an old drawing I did of her Pantheon character as her avatar.

Quality wise it's pretty embarrassing compared to what I can do now, so I took the time to do her a nice new shiny drawing.

So, here it is. :)

Sua boa vinda.

Sua tradução está indo boa. Há certas vezes onde o sentance não faz o sentido, mas é geralmente devido ao tradutor usando a palavra errada que significa a coisa direita no lugar da palavra correta (esperança que sentido feito)

Thanks! Yes, I've been published several places, but never in a comic book. I've done several role playing game products (mostly pdfs), 2 childrens books, a college textbook, over 40 stamp designs, and lots of t-shirts, posters, etc. I think I'm still eligible for Comic Book Idol as I've never done comics (or any professional sequencial art)...

My main source of income is TV animation and Flash has turned out to be perfect for that. And because I can get some good linework on characters I started using it to digitally ink illustrations as well. It's still a bit "buggy" and limited in some ways, but a very handy tool to use.

Fear my lousy drawings!... Seriously, this is pretty much the first time I've ever let anyone see my work. I can draw better by hand then on my computer. I just recently got PS but this drawing was not done by that. Has anyone heard of Appleworks? Yeah, it's like drawing with Microsoft Word, but just a bit better. This (hopefully I can attack it correctly) is a random comp drawing of a transformer chara of mine I RP. Beast Machines version is what I was going for... kinda

Wow thanks a lot! Certainly a heck of a compliment for anyone. It's interesting you say that as I remember this piece (http://chucks888.freeservers.com/gallery/obiwanconcept2.html) I did from a while back looked slightly drew-ish. That was when I first tried using photoshop to color a drawing. Although I think Drew's work is magnificent, I try very hard not to 'study' it. There are many 'drew clones' out there and I don't want to be one of them :p As for the batman pic, I looked at reference for Bale's face and made up the rest. Thanks again!

Glad you picked here to share then, Noir_Dark. As for your pics, the Raven is pretty cool. The face is well done, but there's a little something off about the body-can't really tell what exactly though. Also the feet need to be more defined-they're a little rough.

As for the sexy death one, it's way too rough to comment on. Sharpen the lines up a bit.

Finally, the last pic is pretty good-kind of a faux cartoon style. I like it the best of the three. I don't really have anything to say about that one. Very good.

I hope this helps. Keep up the work, bro.

Awsome. Thank you very much. This is exactly what I was looking for.

p.s. Sorry for the poor quality. The pics were taken with a webcam.I like 'em. I think the roughness adds a lot to them.

Super people done a couple of years ago. The Supergirl doesn't look too bad but I don't like the Superman. I was going for a "pretty boy" Supes and didn't quite pull it off. The hair and face bother me. Again, sorry they're so blurry. I don't know why that's happening.

I do - you're exporting the jpegs at a low level of quality. If you up the jpeg quality when you export from the original image, the file size will go up but the artifacting (all those blurry parts) will lessen.

Thank you

My dilemma is not knowing how others will perceive the roughness. I’m sure that many will see it as lazy or inaccurate. It’s definitely intentional. I just hope that the majority will see it the same as you.

First of all, I made a mistake on the name. It's KOS-MOS. Sorry.

http://www.kos-mos.org/kosmos/official8b.jpg

It's a chracter from a game called Xenosaga, a prequel to the popular video game Xenogears. It's a sentient android developed to fight a ghost like alien race called the Gnosis.

It's just an interesting resemblance is all. :)

-Oh XenoSaga! I known that, is amazing!

-So, I think may can you remind! The character of A.Y.L.A, I create inspired in that girl with "carroty hair", that movie "Fifth Element" with Bruce Willis, and also an Anime named "IRIA", you know? Take a look in the text:

" I am working on a new project here in Brazil, tentatively named -Invasao 2.0- (Invasion 2.0), written by Marcelo Cassaro (VICTORY)
and drawn by myself. It will be a miniseries with six issues, which we plan to launch in the US as soon as possible. The new miniseries will be launched in the American format and in colour (similar to Victory). This time, the writer retakes the science fiction theme which which he began in 1995, along with the romance of "Espada da Galaxia" (Galaxy Sword), which was published in Brazil.
The story takes place in the not too far future, where the people of Earth already know of the existence of the alien races METALIANOS and TRAKTORIANOS. The cultural contact between these races greatly influenced the technology on Earth, which is now very advanced.

ABOUT THE STORY:

-Susan Calvin is one of the protagonists of the series. She works for a tech company called XENOCORP and is working on the development of a battle android named A.Y.L.A, who will be used in the fight against the aliens. Another character in the miniseries is Capitao Ninja (Captain Ninja), but his role in the story is a mistery!

- Soon we will divulge more information, such as launch dates, new pages, and a little more about the story. One more national title which promises to be a success in Brazil and the US.

CURIOSITIES:

- The name of the doctor is tribute to the robot psychologist in the tales of Isaac Asimov. The name of the android comes from the book "Ayla - A filha das Cavernas" (Ayla - Daughter of the Caves) which tells the story of a young woman living with cave men."

-Hi buddy!

-I cannot speak to it a lot of references because I am SELF TAUGHT and I didn't had a "sensei" that made
the same with me.
-My learning bases on observation and training, I use a lot of
pics for reference. But I read and I can indicate it any book
of Will Eisner's master of the masters, this is a base, but
your progression will depend on your vocation, training in
the day-to-day, dedication. Was in that way that I learned,
and in that way I advise you!!

Thanks for the compliments!

A Paul Dini Marvel cartoon? He wrote at least one episode, or pitched in on it, back in '82... The Incredible Hulk. :p

As for the DC ones, he writes a few of 'em, and has been producer on Batman:TAS, Superman, and Batman Beyond... but the look and style of those don't owe a whole lot to Paul, certainly not more than the rest of the creators (like Bruce Timm, Eric Radomski, or Glen Murakami, to name a few). Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Paul's work, and he's written some of the best episodes of those shows, but Bruce Timm should be the first name thought of regarding the DC shows, since you think first of the characters, and that's a style he's mostly responsible for. Of course, Paul's the one that created Harley Quinn, so that might be why he's so prominent in many fans' minds :)

Wow! Great work everybody! You inspired me to get off my lazy bum and start doing some new sketches (linked in my signature).

Edu Francisco: Dude! Your pencils kick butt! Beautiful! I cant wait till you start drawing American comics so I can start buying your work here in the states!

Dreward: Excellent Ringo!-esque style there, man! Looking forward to more!

Atomingunifex: Neat Painter effects! I couldnt believe that was a computer painted face. Nice.

toonimator: Graceful animation work. I wish you would post more and I'd love to see that wolvie-sabretooth piece finished. Excellent.

Kmann: Hey, I remember meeting JonBoy Meyers and a friend of his at the Chicago Con a few years ago (hard to forget his name...were you his friend I met? At the Arcane comics booth? I was the penciller for a book called "Prophecy of the Soul Sorcerer"). I knew he would go far, and now I see he is doing work for Marvel! Great!

Paul Newell: Nice work as always, Hairbutt. My fave is still your old Olympic wombat. :)

MTrembly: Jeeze, nice stuff there! You rock! And I really liked the work you guys are doing over at ELMMTree.

Teegh: Excellent comic work! That big group shot was intense, reminded me of the classic Perez groupers of yore. Love to see more!

Musashi: Very Sin City! Great use of blacks and negative space. Post more!

David Bovey: You can really draw. I hope you are having luck finding work. And that painting was a real beauty!

Howyadoin?: Hey bud! Love your stuff as always...now where is the new stuff?!! ;)

Never one to shy away from ridicule, I scanned
some art from my graphic novel.

Here's the first image of page 35.

(Sorry if it's a little small... I draw on 14x17 boards).

I'm on page 11 right now. I try to do 3 pages a week so I hope to be done around the start of 2005.

Plus I did a 48 page GN last year. Here is a six page preview of it.

Hey Brandon,

Neat website! And I loved the pages there. Especially the part where all four characters are shown in their morning ritual side-by-side style. Neat Eisner-esque technique! Look forward to more! :)

Comicartfan~ Neat robot! Dig the details!

Fitzroy~ Really cool Hellboy drawing! I like how you used the black. Do you have more work online? BTW...thanks for the compliment!

Drewerd~ Nice pencils, man! That art neuveau border stuff is tricky to pull off. Nice use of the flowers as a framing device as well. Post more!

Johnny Morningstar~ Neat character design! She sorta looks like the receptionist where I work, but not as many tattoos. Hey, I really liked your last art contest entry. Are you entering the new one? Draw a cool dragon! He he! :)

Roquefort Raider~ NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! Yes! You posted some pagework! Dang, man...on page 35 already? I'm dying to know what's going on in that story. Looks like the kind of genre I love. Cosmic stuff, aliens. Cool character designs, I particularly liked that guy with the funky staff. I really dig the dramatic angle in that first image. Sweet visual with the exploding planets in between the two characters. Ya left me wanting more, man! And wishing I remembered more of my High School French! Oui oui! If you have time, I would be interested in hearing the plot. And keep on busting them pages out!

I'm glad to see so many creative people posting in this thread and the others. Thanks for the inspiration, fellas!

Take care all!~~~JadeDragon

Beautiful stuff, Drewerd. (I also love the nice details like protecting the cauldron's handles so that people won't burn themselves). Very convincing movements, too!

Keep 'em coming!

Hey Drewerd!

That piece is a real beauty! You have really pretty line control, and I love the fact that you use a lot of black in the image. That always makes the original look cool once it's inked (are you inking these yourself? Please post them if you are! :) )

My favorite touch, like Roquefort said, is the details...had to stare at all the cool little fire dudes dancing away....Nice!

Keep posting your pages, man. It's great to see!

Ciao!~~~JadeDragon
